Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Administrator to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will oversee the accurate processing of payroll, ensuring compliance with all relevant labor laws and tax regulations. Your expertise in payroll systems and accounting software will help maintain the integrity of our payroll operations, support employee benefits administration, and safeguard confidential information. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a collaborative environment where precision and efficiency are valued.

Responsibilities

Manage end-to-end payroll processing using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, UltiPro, Kronos, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, and other payroll platforms.
Ensure accurate data entry related to employee hours, wages, deductions, benefits, and tax information within payroll and HRIS systems.
Reconcile payroll accounts and perform general ledger reconciliation to ensure financial accuracy in compliance with accounting standards.
Maintain compliance with employment and labor laws by staying current on updates to tax law and labor regulations affecting payroll processing.
Prepare and review journal entries related to payroll expenses, tax liabilities, and benefits administration for accuracy and completeness.
Handle sensitive confidential information with integrity while managing payroll tax filings, benefits data, and employee records.
Collaborate with human resources and finance teams on account reconciliation, benefits administration, and non-profit or governmental accounting requirements.
Support audits by providing detailed reports on payroll transactions, tax filings, and account reconciliations using spreadsheets and financial software tools.
Assist in the implementation of time & attendance systems and other HRIS platforms to streamline payroll workflows.
Ensure adherence to all applicable labor laws and company policies regarding payroll management and employee compensation.

Experience

Proven experience working with payroll systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, Kronos, UltiPro, or Ceridian is essential.
Strong background in corporate accounting or finance with familiarity in general ledger accounting, double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, debits & credits.
Demonstrated knowledge of employment & labor law as it relates to payroll processing and tax law compliance.
Proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel) for data analysis, account reconciliation, and report generation is required.
Experience handling confidential information with discretion while managing payroll tax filings and benefits administration.
Prior experience supporting payroll management within a human resources or accounting environment is highly desirable.
Familiarity with time & attendance systems and various HRIS platforms will be advantageous for streamlining processes.
Excellent analysis skills combined with attention to detail in data entry and financial concepts are critical for success in this role.
