Position Overview
Junior Achievement (JA) of Kansas seeks a highly organized, relationship-driven Education Manager to support and expand educational programming throughout the Wichita region. This role advances JA's mission of preparing young people for success through financial literacy, career readiness, and entrepreneurship education.
The Education Manager serves as the primary liaison between schools, educators, volunteers, businesses, community organizations, and JA leadership. Responsibilities include program coordination, volunteer management, school partnership development, community engagement, event support, and district operations. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, collaborative, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a remote or hybrid work environment.
Essential Job Functions
Program Management & Delivery
- Coordinate and oversee JA program implementation across assigned schools and community partners.
- Ensure programs align with JA curriculum standards and learning objectives.
- Manage scheduling, logistics, materials distribution, data tracking, reporting, and record maintenance.
- Monitor program quality through evaluations, classroom visits, stakeholder feedback, and outcome measurement.
- Support program growth initiatives and expansion opportunities.
- Facilitate JA classroom experiences and teach programs when needed.
Partnerships
- Build and maintain strong relationships with teachers, principals, administrators, school districts, volunteers and corporate/community partners.
- Recruit, retain, and expand school partnerships to achieve annual participation goals.
- Provide training, materials, communication, and ongoing support to educators.
- Identify opportunities to increase program reach within existing and new schools.
- Serve as a trusted resource throughout program implementation.
Volunteer Recruitment & Support
- Recruit, train, place, and support volunteers from businesses and community organizations.
- Conduct volunteer outreach presentations and recruitment activities.
- Coordinate volunteer orientation and training programs.
- Provide coaching, resources, recognition, and ongoing support to ensure successful volunteer experiences.
- Develop long-term partnerships with workplace coordinators and volunteer leaders.
- Expand volunteer pipelines while maintaining existing relationships.
Community Partnerships & Outreach
- Cultivate relationships with businesses, civic groups, community leaders, and stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for program growth, sponsorships, volunteer engagement, and community involvement.
- Represent JA at community meetings, networking events, school activities, and partner functions.
- Collaborate with district leadership, boards, committees, and staff to advance organizational goals.
- Assist with fundraising and community engagement efforts as assigned.
District Operations & Events
- Support planning and execution of district programs, special events, volunteer recognition activities, and community initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records related to programs, volunteers, events, and partnerships.
- Prepare reports, correspondence, presentations, and other communications.
- Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience (Bachelor's degree preferred).
- Experience in program coordination, education, nonprofit organizations, volunteer management, customer service, community engagement, fundraising support, or relationship management.
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Regularly communicate verbally and in writing with staff, donors, volunteers, educators, community leaders, and board members.
- Strong organization, planning, project management, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
- Demonstrated success working independently in a remote or hybrid environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and comfort learning CRM/database systems.
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel throughout Kansas.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in education, business, nonprofit management, communications, or a related field.
- Experience recruiting, training, and managing volunteers.
- Background in education, youth development, community engagement, or nonprofit organizations.
- Familiarity with Wichita-area schools, businesses, and community organizations.
- Experience with fundraising, sponsorship development, donor relations, and event coordination.
- Experience using social media, Canva, Constant Contact, Microsoft Copilot, and similar digital or AI-powered tools to support communications, marketing, community engagement, and organizational efficiency.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends to set up event materials and displays. May occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Frequently sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, and use hands for computer and office work.
- Operate standard office equipment, including computers, phones, printers, and presentation technology.
- Travel frequently throughout the Wichita service area for meetings, school visits, community events, and fundraising activities.
- Ability to remain stationary for extended periods during meetings, presentations, and events.
- Requires visual ability to read documents, analyze data, and use computer screens.
- Requires hearing and communication abilities sufficient to interact effectively in person, virtually, and by telephone.

Work Environment
This position operates in a remote or hybrid environment and includes activities such as school visits, volunteer trainings, community meetings, board meetings, special events, and partner engagement. Regular local travel and occasional statewide travel are required. Evening and weekend work may be needed to support programs, events, fundraising activities, and community outreach.
