Full Job Description

The Training and Safety Coordinator will create, implement, and maintain training records for employees. This position will conduct training and safety development programs for employees to ensure positions receive the proper training to be able to perform the duties of their role. The Training and Safety Coordinator assists with labor mapping to support the growth of the business and positively contribute to the team environment.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Identify gaps and improve efficiencies across production processes
Assist Production Manager with labor mapping
Develop training materials
Assist with updating work instructions
Partner with management to ensure training requirements for all employees are satisfied (i.e. safety, competencies, procedures) are documented and tracked
Take the lead role in trainings, as required
Tracks and monitors employee training to ensure compliance
Develops unique training programs to fulfill workers’ specific needs to maintain or improve job skills
Provides training to employees
Work with the team leads to maintain the production training matrix and production team member training records
Maintains knowledge of the latest safety and training standards and trends
Performs other related duties as required

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Effective time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Strong presentation skills
Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods
Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives
Ability to design and implement effective training and development
Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience drafting training/work instructions
Computer Skills: Ability to comfortably operate in a Windows environment needed. Basic skills in MS Excel a plus
Self-motivated team player displaying positive and engaging attitude.
Ability to get along with others, be punctual, and follow instructions
Work flexible hours occasionally as needed
Ability to follow company policies and procedures
Must comply and satisfactorily pass pre-employment background and drug screening
Ability to complete and be granted/maintain a U.S. Department of State MRPT clearance as a condition of employment as described in our employee handbook
A preliminary and interim security background check must be passed before employment begins and the full MRPT application completed up on starting employment. All offers of employment are conditional based upon successful completion, approval, and maintenance of this clearance.
Outstanding interpersonal and influencing skills; demonstrated ability to develop relationships and Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s Degree and 2+ years of experience as a trainer required OR a combination of education and related working experience from with comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired.

Preferred Skills and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Training certification
Experience in a production/manufacturing setting

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

While performing duties of this job, the employee is predominately functioning in a sedentary light office position with high frequency of keyboarding, and computer use. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Supervision Level

This person reports directly to the Production Manager.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
