Learning Center Program Manager, Evanston IL

In June 2026, Redwood Literacy moved its original Chicago Learning Center from Rogers Park to a beautiful new home in Evanston. This new location is 3x the size of our original location, allowing us to teach many more students and provide more groups for students at different ages and reading levels. We are looking for a Program Manager: someone who is passionate about teaching foundational academic skills, who is excited by true boots-on-the-ground community building, and who is ready to grow our Evanston location into something extraordinary.

Who We Are

Redwood Literacy is a specialized education company transforming outcomes for students with dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, and other learning differences. We are a Stanford Tutoring Program Design Badge recipient, one of only 37 nationwide. We have served 3,000+ students across 22 states. In one school year, 100% of our students improved their DIBELS 8 composite score, growing 29% faster than the national average.

Our instructors deliver reading, writing, and math intervention to students individually and in small groups using evidence-based methods including the Wilson Reading System®, UFLI, EBLI, Woodin Math, and Writing Our World™. We are boutique, trust-driven, and treat every family as VIP.

The Opportunity

Our new Evanston In-Person Learning Center sits at 1315 Sherman Place, fully furnished and fully stocked. A loyal base of students came with us from Rogers Park, as did our strong team of instructors. Now we have to grow enrollment and provide an educational service that we know this incredible community needs and deserves.

We are looking for an Evanston local: someone genuinely plugged into the parent community, the local PTAs, the school districts, and the state of education in this community. We have long served the Evanston community from Rogers Park, so there is already a lot of trust built. Your job is to build on that trust and grow Evanston into a thriving, profitable home for structured literacy in this community.

What You Will Own

Owning the Evanston Learning Center day to day: student experience, team performance, student enrollment, profitability, space and materials.
Talking directly with parents about their child, understanding each student's learning profile, and matching them with the right small group tutoring or individual tutoring placement and Instructor
Deepening Redwood's roots in Evanston by building relationships with local schools, PTAs, neuropsychologists, and the broader parent community
Hiring, training, and leading a growing team of instructors, building on the strong team already in place
Holding a high bar for data collection and response, while individualizing instruction so every student gets both academic growth and social-emotional growth
Championing Small Group Tutoring for the confidence and camaraderie it builds among students
Serving as an ambassador for the Redwood brand and our standard of programming excellence, inside and outside the Learning Center
Overseeing daily operations, from scheduling in Redwood’s TMS, to the Free Consultation Call experience for new families
Partnering closely with Redwood's director team to keep instruction best in class and the location running profitably

Obsessive about the family experience: you want every parent to feel like VIP, and every student to feel hope and confidence again
A believer in structured literacy approaches such as the Wilson Reading System®, Writing Our World™, Multisensory Math, EBLI, UFLI, and Orton-Gillingham
Ready to own and grow a team of instructors
Comfortable with data: you collect it, you respond to it, and you individualize for every student in front of you
Available in the afternoons and early evenings, when most of our programming happens
Entrepreneurial: you see a strong foundation and want to build it into something bigger
