Position SummaryThe Business Development Manager (Sales) oversees all customer engagement activities in the dealership’s Business Development Center (BDC). This role drives sales opportunities by managing inbound and outbound customer contacts, ensuring timely follow-up, and developing strategies to increase showroom traffic, appointment conversions, and customer retention. The Business Development Manager works closely with the Sales Managers and General Manager to achieve BMW sales objectives and deliver a premium customer experience.Key Responsibilities

Manage inbound internet leads, phone inquiries, and chat responses, ensuring timely and professional follow-up.
Oversee outbound call campaigns to generate showroom traffic, including unsold follow-up, lease retention, and equity mining.
Set daily, weekly, and monthly goals for BDC staff aligned with dealership sales objectives.
Monitor CRM usage, ensuring accurate data entry, customer notes, and pipeline management.
Develop scripts, processes, and best practices for consistent customer communication.
Track and report on lead conversion, appointment show rates, and sales performance metrics.
Partner with the Sales Management team to ensure a smooth handoff from BDC to showroom.
Maintain compliance with BMW and dealership policies, customer privacy standards, and sales processes.

Qualifications

2+ years of automotive dealership BDC or internet sales management experience (BMW or luxury brand experience preferred).
Strong organizational skills required.
Excellent communication, phone, and customer service skills.
Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Reynolds & Reynolds (FOCUS) , Elead, or similar).
Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze reports and adjust strategies accordingly.
High energy, results-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Performance Metrics

Lead response time and follow-up consistency.
Appointment set-to-show ratio.
Show-to-sale conversion rate.
CRM accuracy and utilization.
Customer satisfaction and retention rates.

Proven experience in outside sales or business development within the automotive industry.

Strong negotiation skills with a track record of closing deals.
Familiarity with B2B sales processes and strategies.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to manage a sales pipeline effectively.
Experience with CRM software is preferred.
High-end sales experience is a plus.
Customer-focused mindset with strong organizational skills.
