Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic Cath Lab team. In this vital role, you will provide expert nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization procedures, diagnostic tests, and interventional treatments. Your expertise will ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate care delivery in a fast-paced, technologically advanced environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge medical equipment and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team dedicated to improving cardiovascular health outcomes.

Duties

Prepare patients for cardiac catheterization procedures by conducting comprehensive assessments, reviewing medical histories, and explaining procedures to alleviate anxiety.
Administer medications, including sedation and contrast agents, following strict protocols and ensuring patient safety throughout procedures.
Monitor vital signs, oxygen saturation, and cardiac rhythms using advanced EMR/EHR systems such as Epic and Cerner during interventions.
Maintain aseptic techniques and sterile field protocols during invasive procedures like catheterization and suturing to prevent infections.
Assist physicians with technical aspects of procedures including catheter placement, device deployment, and specimen collection.
Manage post-procedure care by observing patients for complications such as bleeding or arrhythmias, providing pain management, and coordinating discharge planning.
Document all patient interactions, procedures performed, and clinical observations accurately in electronic health records while adhering to HIPAA regulations.

Experience

Proven experience working in a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab), Level I or Level II trauma centers preferred.
Critical care experience in ICU or emergency medicine settings demonstrating proficiency in airway management, ventilator support, and acute pain management.
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner; experience with medical documentation and ICD coding is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology related to cardiovascular interventions, and aseptic techniques.
Prior experience with medical imaging modalities like CT scans or sonography enhances patient assessment capabilities.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams in hospital medicine or outpatient settings.
Additional skills including IV infusion, phlebotomy, injection administration, suturing, specimen processing, and infection control are advantageous for success in this role.
