Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) specializing in Home & Community Services! In this vital role, you will empower individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, and other disabilities to live fulfilling, independent lives within their homes and community settings. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day by providing personalized care, promoting social engagement, and assisting with daily activities. Responsibilities

Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, and other needs in their homes and community settings.
Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication administration, and household chores.
Assist individuals with community participation.
Help individuals achieve personal goals and increase independence
Provide companionship and support in community settings
Assist with transportation to appointments, activities, and community outings
Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and social skills development.
Use effective communication skills, including American Sign Language when applicable, to facilitate understanding and connection.
Collect data on client progress, behaviors, and service outcomes to support care planning and reporting requirements.
Support clients in participating in community activities such as outings, appointments, and recreational events.
Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and collaborate with team members to ensure comprehensive care.

Requirements

Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is highly preferred.
Knowledge of special education principles and behavioral health practices.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with clients and their families.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for community outings and home visits.
Experience assisting with ADLs, caregiving tasks, and medication administration.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Flexibility to adapt to changing client needs and schedules; experience in home & community care is a plus.
