Full Job Description

Join us at our JOB FAIR - July 13, 14, 15 from 10am to 4pm each day!

GPS address is 1330 N. University Pkwy (held at the Village Grille, an off-campus restaurant of High Point University)

Aramark Destinations at the Kahn Hotel at High Point University is currently seeking Servers and Server Assistants for two of our restaurants on campus; Alo Restaurant, our Fine Dining, Mediterranean inspired restaurant, and Kazoku Japanese Steak House, our Japanese Hibachi restaurant. Restaurant hours of operation for both restaurants are Tuesday – Sunday, 4:30p.m. to 8:30p.m., so weekend availability is required.

The server and server assistants will provide the highest level of quality and service to our guests in an incredibly friendly atmosphere.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

2-3 years of previous experience in an upscale or fine dining restaurant or comparable industry. We will train.
Customer Oriented – Ability to take care of the customer's needs while following company procedures.
Some computer skills preferred. Restaurant reservation systems a plus. Will train.
Ability to work under pressure to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations.
Ability to actively listen, convey, and understand the comments and questions of others.
Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, guests, and management to ensure all needs are met.
Receive and follow directions from supervisors.
Ability to work together with a team in a positive manner to achieve common goal.
Ability to exhibit a cheerful demeanor towards others and bring energy to the performance of the task.
Neat, well-groomed and polished appearance.
Must be literate for written client and guest communication.
Available to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities:

Sets side station and performs assigned side work
Provides immediate attention to all members/guests upon seating
Distributes menus 
Fills glasses with ice water; answers questions and suggests menu items 
Takes guests orders 
Places orders with kitchen; informs cooks about any special cooking instructions 
Assembles food on tray; procures items from each station as necessary 
Serves meal, places dishes by courses in front of each person 
Checks back to ensure member/guest satisfaction; replenishes water 
Removes soiled dishes 
Suggests and serves dessert, coffee, and/or after dinner drinks 
Verifies accuracy of prices, state and federal taxes and other charges on all checks 
Handles all cash and credit card charges as prescribed by standard operating procedures 
Keeps tables, dining room and bus station areas clean  
Advises supervisor of any complaints as soon as they occur 
Performs clean-up and closing duties as assigned by manager 
Attends pre and post line up meetings
Maintains and fosters positive relationship with all associates and clients
Promotes a harmonious and cooperative working climate
Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested
