Job Overview
Join our vibrant culinary team as a Pastry Assistant, where your passion for baking and food artistry will help create delightful desserts and baked goods that excite and satisfy our customers. This dynamic role offers the opportunity to develop your culinary skills in a fast-paced, creative environment. You will support the pastry and baking team by preparing ingredients, decorating cakes, packaging finished products, and ensuring all food safety standards are met. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will contribute to delivering exceptional quality and presentation in every item we produce.

Responsibilities
Assist in preparing a variety of baked goods, including pastries, cakes, tarts, and cookies, following established recipes and standards. Decorate cakes and desserts with precision using piping techniques, fondant, and other decorating tools to ensure visually appealing presentations. Support food production by measuring ingredients accurately, mixing batters, and managing multiple baking stations efficiently. Handle food packaging with care to maintain freshness and presentation quality for retail or catering orders. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry kitchen, adhering to strict food safety and hygiene protocols. Assist in setting up displays for bakery counters or catering events to attract customer attention. Support the team during busy periods by preparing ingredients in advance and assisting with general kitchen duties as needed.

Skills
Proven pastry experience with a strong foundation in baking techniques and cake decorating. Excellent knife skills for precise cutting, trimming, and portioning of baked goods. Knowledge of food handling procedures to ensure safety and compliance with health regulations. Experience in food preparation, including measuring ingredients accurately and following recipes closely. Strong customer service skills to assist customers with product selections or inquiries when needed. Familiarity with packaging techniques that preserve product quality during transport or display. Culinary experience within a food industry setting such as bakeries, restaurants, or catering services is highly desirable. Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
