Full Job Description

Job Summary

The Industrial Fabrication Equipment Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining fabrication machinery used in the production of metal and structural components. This position supports shop fabrication activities by ensuring equipment is operated safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications and quality standards.

$23–25/hour (based on experience) paid weekly
Bonus for meeting production goals and completion
Per diem for employees who reside 60 or more miles from the facility address.

Qualifications

Misc. mig welding (tacking only) as needed – must pass ASME Mig weld test.
High school diploma or GED required
2+ years of experience operating industrial fabrication equipment (or equivalent training)
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings
Basic math skills, including fractions and measurements
Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and shop safety practices
Experience with rigging and material handling preferred
NCCER certification or similar credentials (preferred but not required)
Maintain regular attendance and timeliness on a consistent basis; reliable transportation is a must
Must provide own tools

Key Responsibilities

Set up and operate fabrication equipment such as:
CNC plasma tables
Press brakes
Shears
Rollers
Ironworkers
Drill lines and band saws
Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and work orders to determine specifications and tolerances
Measure, mark, and verify material dimensions using appropriate tools (tape measure, calipers, squares)
Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and detect defects or malfunctions
Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on equipment
Load, position, and secure raw materials using overhead cranes or forklifts
Maintain production logs and report completed work
Ensure all work meets company and customer quality standards
Follow all safety policies, including lockout/tagout and PPE requirements
Maintain a clean and organized work area

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 40 lbs regularly
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and squatting

Capability to safely operate heavy equipment and machinery

Location

Shop-based role in Winterville, NC – no travel required.
Future additional facility currently being built in Farmville, NC with expected completion Fall 2026.
