Find, Inspire, and Prepare Great Educators
Your relationships will inspire the next generation of exceptional educators to answer the call to urban teaching and leadership.
We're hiring a Talent Recruiter & Developer to identify, inspire, and prepare exceptional future teachers and leaders for meaningful careers in urban education. If you're passionate about helping people discover their calling, building authentic relationships that inspire action, developing future teachers and leaders, and being part of a purpose-driven, Christ-centered team, we'd love to hear from you.
The Center for Urban Teaching (CfUT) is a Christian nonprofit organization that exists to identify, prepare, and support high-performing urban teachers, leaders, and schools. We save school partners hundreds of hours by identifying top teaching talent as early as freshman year of college and top leadership talent as early as their second year of teaching. Through early recruitment, exposure to high-performing models, intensive training, and real-world experience that allows future educators to put theory to practice, we help educators discover what is possible and prepare to make a lasting impact in urban schools.
At CfUT, we believe lasting change happens by investing in people. Every teacher we prepare, every leader we develop, and every school we strengthen creates a ripple effect that impacts thousands of students for years to come. If you're looking for work that combines faith, purpose, growth, and lasting impact, you'll find it here.
About the Role
The Talent Recruiter & Developer exists to identify, inspire, and prepare exceptional future teachers who are aligned with CfUT's mission and committed to transforming urban schools and serving students with excellence. Through relationship-building, recruitment, candidate development, and partnership-building, this role expands CfUT's pipeline of high-quality educators and helps candidates develop the competence, confidence, character, and commitment needed to succeed in the classroom.
As the first impression of CfUT for prospective candidates and university partners, you'll play a critical role in sharing our mission, building trust, and helping talented individuals discover the possibility of a meaningful career in urban education.
What Makes You a Great Fit
We're looking for someone who is:
- A Christian servant leader with a deep commitment to CfUT's mission, vision, and values.
- An accomplished educator, leader, recruiter, admissions professional, sales professional, or related field with a passion for developing people.
- A strong communicator who is energized by meeting new people and building authentic relationships.
- Skilled at gaining buy-in, influencing others, and inspiring people to pursue opportunities aligned with their purpose.
- An organized professional who can successfully manage multiple priorities both independently and collaboratively, with strong follow-through and attention to detail.
- A strategic thinker who uses data to guide recruitment, engagement, and continuous improvement.
- A lifelong learner who seeks feedback, embraces growth, and continually improves their practice.
- Comfortable using technology, social media, and digital platforms to connect with and engage future talent.
How You'll Make an Impact
As a Talent Recruiter & Developer, you'll help identify and prepare exceptional educators by:
- Expanding the pipeline of future educators by identifying, engaging, and recruiting talented candidates who are aligned with CfUT's mission and committed to excellence in urban education.
- Inspiring candidates to see what is possible by sharing CfUT's vision, facilitating immersion experiences, and connecting future educators with outstanding teachers and leaders in action.
- Building meaningful relationships that drive commitment by engaging candidates through intentional communication, mentorship, advising, and support throughout their CfUT journey.
- Strengthening university and community partnerships by developing relationships with colleges, student organizations, schools, and community partners that create pathways for future educators.
- Preparing candidates for success before they enter the classroom by facilitating training experiences, professional development, conferences, and summer programming that build the skills, confidence, commitment, and dispositions needed for success.
- Supporting candidates in launching their careers by advising graduates through clinical experiences, job searches, placement decisions, and their transition into urban teaching roles.
- Using data to improve recruitment and development efforts by tracking candidate engagement, analyzing outcomes, and continuously strengthening CfUT's systems and processes.
- Expanding CfUT's organizational impact beyond individual candidate relationships by contributing to strategic initiatives and projects that strengthen our ability to identify, prepare, and support exceptional educators and leaders.
