Steamfitters Local 601 is seeking experienced trades workers for their brand-new Accelerated Fitter Program. If you have prior trade or manufacturing experience and a desire to take your career to the next level, the Accelerated Fitter Program could be right for you!
PROGRAM BACKGROUND
Despite a growing influx of large-scale projects that are increasing demand for highly skilled labor. Steamfitters Local 601 is staying ahead of the curve by taking a proactive approach to recruitment and training. As the need for qualified workers with trade and manufacturing backgrounds continues to rise, Local 601 has positioned itself as a leader in developing a strong, capable workforce through robust training programs and ongoing skills development. By investing in the next generation of Steamfitters and maintaining high standards of excellence, the union is not only meeting current industry demands but is fully prepared to take on the challenges of tomorrow.
Upon successful completion of the Unpaid 80-Hour Special Project Training Course Graduates can expect to begin earning $38.30 per hour, with the potential to elevate their income to $58.92 per hour through additional training. As proud dues-paying members of Steamfitters Local 601, participants will have access to continuous training and development programs, along with a robust benefits package that includes health insurance, individual retirement plans (401k), and a defined benefit pension plan.

TRAINING DESCRIPTION
· Take and pass GAN Aptitude Testing.
· Attend and pass the free and unpaid 80-Hour Special Project Training Course.
· 3-years of Night School Classes to be taken at the Steamfitters Training School (Free Tuition – minimal charge for books).
· On-the-Job Training.
· Must take and pass the Journeyman Exam after completion of the 3rd year.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- You must have a minimum of 5 years of Trade or Manufacturing work experience.
- Pass Aptitude Testing.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Be drug free.
- Must attend & pass the 80-hour free and unpaid Special Project Training Course.
