Full Job Description

Prep Cook — Wok & Sauce Prep

New Restaurant Opening August 2026 in Paramus, NJ
Pay: $18.75–$19.75 per hour

Canton Rodeo is opening its first location, and we’re looking for energetic Prep Cooks who are ready to fire up the wok and join our opening team!

In this hands-on kitchen role, you’ll prepare the fried rice, lo mein, vegetables, and sauces that bring our menu to life. You’ll keep your station stocked, organized, and ready to deliver delicious food—even during the busiest rush.

What You’ll Do

Cook batches of fried rice and lo mein using wok techniques
Prepare sauces, vegetables, and sides according to our recipes
Maintain consistent flavor, quality, portions, and presentation
Keep the wok station clean, stocked, and ready for service
Label, date, store, and rotate ingredients properly
Clean and maintain woks, tools, and kitchen equipment
Follow all food-safety, sanitation, and knife-safety procedures
Support other kitchen stations and teammates during busy periods

What We’re Looking For

Wok-cooking and food-preparation experience
Strong knife, portioning, and production skills
A reliable, positive, team-first attitude
Ability to work quickly while maintaining quality and accuracy
Strong attention to cleanliness and organization
Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Restaurant kitchen experience is preferred
Spanish-English bilingual skills and Food Handler certification are a plus

This active role requires standing for extended periods, working around high heat, steam, hot oils, and sharp tools, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
