Job Title: Night Auditor
Location: Colonial Hotel, 625 Betty Spring Road, Gardner, MA
Department: Front Desk/Accounting
Reports To: Front Desk Manager

Position Overview:
The Colonial Hotel is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Night Auditor to join our team. This position is responsible for overseeing the hotel’s front desk operations during the overnight shift, while also handling key financial responsibilities, including running reports and generating daily financial summaries. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills, excellent attention to detail, and a keen understanding of hotel financials.

Key Responsibilities:

Front Desk Operations:

Provide excellent customer service to guests, including check-ins, check-outs, and handling guest inquiries.
Address and resolve guest issues or complaints in a professional manner.
Ensure that the front desk area is welcoming, organized, and well-maintained at all times.

Financial Reporting:

Run and review night audit reports to ensure the accuracy of the hotel's financial records.
Reconcile all revenue, expenses, and transactions for the day, including guest payments, room charges, and adjustments.
Prepare and generate daily financial reports, ensuring they are accurate and submitted to management by the end of the shift.

Cash Handling and Banking:

Perform cash handling duties, including balancing cash drawers and processing credit card payments.
Ensure all financial transactions are properly documented and discrepancies are addressed in a timely manner.

Record Keeping:

Maintain accurate records of hotel transactions and guest stays.
Update hotel systems with accurate guest data and billing information.

Communication & Collaboration:

Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure smooth guest service and operational efficiency.
Work closely with the management team to resolve any financial or guest-related issues.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in hotel front desk operations and/or accounting is preferred.
Strong computer skills, including proficiency with hotel management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Basic understanding of financial transactions and reconciliation.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task effectively.
Ability to work independently and take initiative.
Flexibility to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time.
Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
