JOB LOCATION: Primary work location is the Lewiston office; travel and work in Andwell’s other locations required as necessary.

Andwell Health Partners (Andwell) is Maine’s largest independent nonprofit home healthcare organization. The Director of Human Resources will be responsible to ensuring success through training & development opportunities, ensuring HR practices and policies comply with legal requirements that deliver best practice and are in alignment with Andwell’s mission, values and behaviors, and that employees who decide to leave Andwell are treated with the utmost respect and have the information they need for a successful off boarding.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, leadership, or learning and development required.

5+ years combined experience in learning and development, human resources, or employee engagement/experience positions.

Broad exposure to multiple aspects of human resources in an evolving and growing organization.
- Direct experience and demonstrated success guiding shared services is desired but not essential for the role.

Leadership experience with responsibility for achieving critical business and financial outcomes, and a track record of achieving expected results.

Team Leadership Experience: Proven track record of building strong organizational buy-in and support for vision and strategy, and successfully acquiring, developing, and retaining leaders for increasingly broader leadership responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Culture: Cultivate and set the tone for a culture of connectivity and collegiality to leverage our diverse experiences and viewpoints; encourage standard practices while being sensitive to local nuances; measure and manage the behavioral norms and unwritten rules that shape Andwell’s organizational environment and how individuals interact within it.
- Compliance: Avoid legal challenges by monitoring and complying with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Recommend best practices; review and modify HR policy & procedure, HR handbook, and accreditation survey readiness. Ensure compliance with HR employee records.

Develop and implement HR policies and procedures in line with go-forward company objectives and industry best practices. Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations, including FMLA, ADA, EEOC, and OSHA.

Learning & Development: In collaboration with the organization design and deliver training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge. Engineer employees’ movement between career experiences to maximize their development and ensure the full utilization of their capabilities to meet business needs. Include leadership development programs, manager training, career development initiatives, and internal mobility.

Partner with CHRO, Payroll, clinical educators, leaders, and as necessary outside vendors to design training programs that build skills and competencies for continuous learning.

Leverage internal and external data, trends, analytics, and insights to assess talent gaps, forecast resource needs, and model future scenarios to accurately identify and prioritize risks and opportunities.

Stay updated on HR trends and best practices to continuously improve HR processes and initiatives.

New Employee Orientation program: Design and facilitate employee orientation for new employees and that ensures each member of Andwell has what they need to start work and be successful in their position.

Employee Programs: Collaborate with internal groups to develop and drive high impact and engaging programs such as employee resource groups, employee recognition programs, lunch n’ learns and speaker series, wellness programs.

Create and implement short-term and long-term plans that drive ongoing operational, efficiency and employee experience improvements.

Employee Relations: collaborate with employees and managers, providing coaching and guidance on performance improvement and conflict management matters, investigations, and disciplinary processes in a neutral, consistent way that contributes toward driving the HR strategy.
- Consult with and provide guidance to employees and managers about workplace issues to effectively resolve issues that follow internal processes and are in alignment with company policies and values.

Oversee and manage direct reports, including the daily workflow of HR staff, specifically surrounding leave management, worker’s compensation, annual performance reviews, onboarding, policy and procedure updates and other assigned areas.

Partner with IT team and business leaders to understand key needs and provide effective people systems, data, and reporting solutions to address identified needs.

Lead all HR systems and data initiatives, projects, and implementations.

Maximize, maintain, and modify, as needed, existing and new modules within the HCM.

By using data, information and analytics, develop business cases that drive increased compliance, efficiency and improved employee experience in HR Services within self-service models and enhanced HR structure.
