Overview

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a PACU / Recovery Room Registered Nurse (RN), where your expertise will be vital in delivering exceptional post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgery and procedures. In this energetic role, you will provide comprehensive patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and ensure safe recovery environments. Your dedication will help patients transition smoothly from anesthesia to full consciousness, promoting comfort, safety, and optimal outcomes. We value proactive, compassionate nurses ready to make a difference in a fast-paced, supportive setting.

Duties

Perform thorough patient assessments including vital signs, level of consciousness, and pain levels to determine readiness for discharge or transfer.
Monitor patients closely during recovery, managing airway patency, ventilation support, and IV infusions with precision and aseptic technique.
Administer medications such as analgesics, antiemetics, and other post-operative treatments following strict protocols and medication administration standards.
Collaborate with surgical teams and anesthesia providers to communicate patient status updates and coordinate care plans effectively.
Document all patient interactions, assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately using electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems).
Manage complex cases involving acute pain management, trauma medicine, or infectious disease care with confidence and professionalism.
Educate patients and families on post-discharge care instructions including wound care, medication schedules, and activity restrictions to ensure safe recovery at home.

Qualifications

Valid RN license with current state registration; previous ICU or Level I/II trauma center experience preferred.
Demonstrated expertise in critical care procedures such as ventilator management, airway management, IV insertion, catheterization, and aseptic technique.
Experience working in hospital medicine settings with familiarity in EMR/EHR systems; proficiency in medical documentation is essential.
Knowledge of physiology principles related to anesthesia recovery, trauma medicine, and acute pain management.
Strong understanding of infection control practices including sterile processing and infection prevention protocols.
Background in emergency medicine or urgent care environments highly desirable; experience working with individuals with disabilities or behavioral health needs is a plus.
Excellent communication skills for triage assessments and interdisciplinary collaboration; ability to handle high-pressure situations confidently.
