Full Job Description

Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Bookkeeper and become a vital part of our financial operations! In this role, you'll be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Your expertise will help us streamline our financial processes, support budgeting efforts, and provide clear financial reporting. We’re looking for a motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about precision and organization. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your accounting skills while contributing to meaningful projects within our organization.

Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks including data entry, journal entries, and account reconciliation using accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, or similar systems
Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of all financial transactions in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
Process payroll and handle accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure timely payments and collections
Maintain the general ledger by recording transactions accurately and preparing financial reports such as balance sheets and income statements
Conduct account analysis, review financial statements, and prepare supporting documentation for audits or internal reviews
Assist with budgeting activities by tracking expenses against forecasts and analyzing variances
Support month-end closing procedures including ledger reconciliation, journal entries, and financial report writing

Requirements

Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role with familiarity in bookkeeping practices and accounting systems
Strong knowledge of accounting concepts including debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and journal entries
Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks (including QuickBooks Online), Xero, Sage, or comparable platforms
Experience with corporate accounting, non-profit accounting, or public accounting is highly desirable
Ability to manage spreadsheets effectively for account analysis, budget tracking, and data organization
Understanding of GAAP standards and general ledger reconciliation procedures
Excellent attention to detail combined with strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently
Effective communication skills to prepare clear financial reports and collaborate with team members
