We are looking to build out a network of Regional Talent Scouts across key basketball markets. These individuals will serve as the primary voice and evaluator within their assigned region, helping Coast 2 Coast Preps scale content, strengthen relationships, and improve the depth and accuracy of our player and team coverage.
This role is designed as a win-win: it allows us to expand our national footprint while giving scouts a platform to grow their personal brand through consistent exposure and content creation.
The Regional Talent Scout Program is intended to:
-
Increase content volume and consistency across all platforms
-
Improve player and team evaluation and rankings accuracy at both regional and national levels
-
Strengthen on-the-ground relationships in key basketball markets
-
Create a scalable system for identifying and covering talent year-round
Each scout will be assigned a specific geographic region with a strong concentration of basketball talent. They will be responsible for owning that region from both a content and evaluation standpoint, becoming a trusted and consistent voice within their market for both players and teams.
1. Talent Identification & Evaluation
-
Track and evaluate top players and teams within assigned region
-
Maintain an active pipeline of prospects across multiple age groups
-
Contribute insight toward regional and national rankings
2. Content Creation
-
Produce consistent written content (player spotlights, team coverage, event recaps, evaluations)
-
Highlight top performers, emerging prospects, and key storylines
-
Support overall platform growth through increased content output
3. Event Coverage & Market Relationships
-
Build relationships with coaches, parents, players, and program directors
-
Attend and cover local and regional events when possible
-
Help identify opportunities for Coast 2 Coast Preps events and partnerships
4. Media & Platform Integration
-
Participate in Coast 2 Coast Preps media (Instagram Lives, TikTok Lives, podcasts, etc.)
-
Contribute to social content and real-time coverage when applicable
-
Represent both the Coast 2 Coast Preps brand and their own personal brand
To ensure consistency and scalability, the role will operate with baseline expectations:
Weekly / Non-Event Coverage
-
3–5 written pieces per week (player spotlights, team coverage, recaps, evaluations)
-
Ongoing player and team tracking and note-taking within assigned region
-
Regular social contributions (observations, articles, clips, engagement or player callouts)
-
Active communication with the internal team (Slack, planning, coordination, etc.)
Event Coverage Expectations
During events, scouts are expected to operate at a higher content volume to maximize exposure and real-time coverage:
-
Share 10 player spotlights per day
-
Identify 15–25 top performers throughout the event
-
Produce 5 written articles post-event based on top performers and key takeaways
-
Contribute to real-time storytelling, notes, and observations during games
This program is a key step in building a more scalable and credible national platform. By establishing dedicated regional coverage, we are able to:
-
Expand content without sacrificing quality
-
Develop deeper, more informed player and team evaluations
-
Build stronger relationships at the grassroots level
-
Position Coast 2 Coast Preps as a trusted authority in the space
This role is designed to evolve over time based on performance and engagement. Potential growth areas include:
-
Increased involvement in national rankings and evaluations
-
Leading coverage at major events and showcases
-
Expanded presence across social and live media platforms
-
Opportunity to grow into regional lead or national roles
-
Strong understanding of a specific basketball region or demographic
-
Passion for talent evaluation and player development
-
Consistent, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
-
Comfortable creating written and digital content
-
Interested in building a long-term presence in the basketball/media space with Coast 2 Coast Preps
The Regional Talent Scout Program provides a structured way to scale Coast 2 Coast Preps’ coverage while empowering individuals within key markets to grow alongside the brand. By combining local expertise with a national platform, this initiative strengthens both our content ecosystem and our position within grassroots basketball.
