Full Job Description

Miami Regional University is seeking a Bursar Clerk to support the accurate maintenance of student financial records while ensuring compliance with state, accrediting, and federal regulations. The ideal candidate will assist with tuition processing, billing, revenue recognition, bank deposits, cash receipts, and student refunds. Additionally, this role includes managing aged receivables, handling collections, and maintaining up-to-date student records. The Bursar Clerk will also assist with purchasing campus supplies, including textbooks and other operational needs.

All duties must be conducted in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Core Values of the University, serving as a positive professional role model for guests, students, faculty and staff in the areas of customer service, respect, communication, collaboration and excellence. Applicants must be able to demonstrate a sensitivity to the needs of everyone from multicultural backgrounds and demonstrate commitment to our learning institution.

Responsibilities:

Ensures duties and responsibilities are aligned with Miami Regional University (MRU) Mission and Vision.
Assure full compliance with regulation and requirements of institution’s accrediting bodies, USDOE, federal and local agencies.
Process and post incoming cash, credit card and check payments to student accounts
Reconciled payment collected from students vs. Campus Bank Report and actual cash, checks, and credit card payment on hand from all drawers daily.
Responsible to mail all correspondence from the Bursar Department.
Back up Auto pay as needed.
Set up in-house payment plans for student enrollments
Collections outreach to students with past due accounts
Assist students with account inquiries

Skills & Qualifications:

Minimum three years of office administration experience, preferably in business or accounting.
Minimum associate’s degree may substitute for work experience.
Strong proficiency in data management, word processing, and financial software.
Excellent grammar and communication skills.
Strong time management and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred: Bilingual (English/Spanish).
