CRS develops and commercializes innovative water-treatment technologies designed specifically for car wash operators. Our products help improve chemical performance, support more consistent wash quality, protect critical equipment, improve reverse-osmosis performance, and save operators money by using water more efficiently.
CRS has built a rapidly growing customer base across the professional car wash market and works with individual operators, regional chains, private-equity-backed platforms, equipment distributors, chemical suppliers, and other industry partners.
We are seeking an ambitious and experienced Sales Development Representative to help expand our presence throughout the North American car wash industry.
Position Summary
The Sales Development Representative will be responsible for identifying prospective car wash customers, initiating relationships, qualifying opportunities, and scheduling sales meetings for CRS leadership and senior sales personnel.
This role is designed for someone who already understands the professional car wash industry and wants to build a long-term career selling differentiated water technology to car wash operators.
The successful candidate will understand how car washes operate, recognize common operational and water-related challenges, and communicate how CRS products can help operators improve performance while reducing operating costs.
The position will initially focus on outbound prospecting, relationship development, opportunity qualification, and pipeline generation. As the candidate develops greater product knowledge and demonstrates consistent performance, the role may expand to include responsibility for managing customer relationships and closing sales independently.
Primary Responsibilities: Sales, Prospecting and Pipeline Development
- Identify and research prospective car wash customers, including independent operators, regional chains, national platforms, express exterior operators, in-bay automatic operators, and self-service locations.
- Conduct outbound prospecting through telephone calls, email, LinkedIn, industry relationships, referrals, trade shows, and other appropriate channels.
- Develop relationships with car wash owners, operators, general managers, maintenance personnel, equipment managers, purchasing teams, and private-equity-backed car wash platforms.
- Qualify prospective customers by understanding their wash operations, water usage, equipment configuration, chemical program, water-treatment systems, and operational challenges.
- Schedule qualified introductory meetings, technical discussions, product demonstrations, and site evaluations for CRS leadership and senior sales personnel.
- Maintain consistent and professional follow-up throughout the sales process.
- Reengage previous leads, dormant prospects, and existing industry relationships to generate new opportunities.
Car Wash Market Development
- Build and maintain targeted prospect lists organized by geography, ownership group, wash format, equipment platform, and opportunity size.
- Identify operators experiencing challenges related to water usage, chemical performance, reverse-osmosis operation, water softening, scale, biofilm, reclaim-water quality, spot-free rinse performance, or equipment maintenance.
- Develop relationships with car wash equipment manufacturers, chemical suppliers, distributors, installers, service providers, consultants, and other industry partners.
- Attend car wash trade shows, association events, distributor meetings, customer events, and industry conferences.
- Monitor industry developments, new wash construction, acquisitions, platform expansions, and ownership changes that may create new sales opportunities.
- Help identify strategic regional and national accounts for CRS products.
Customer and Sales Support
- Develop a strong working understanding of CRS products, customer applications, installation requirements, and value propositions.
- Clearly communicate how CRS technologies can improve chemical performance and help operators save money through more efficient water use.
- Explain the potential benefits of CRS products in clear and practical terms to owners, operators, maintenance personnel, and equipment professionals.
- Support the preparation of proposals, customer presentations, ROI calculations, case studies, and follow-up materials.
- Collect basic customer information, including wash volume, water usage, flow rates, plumbing sizes, equipment specifications, chemical programs, water-softener operation, RO performance, and operating objectives.
- Coordinate customer calls, site visits, product demonstrations, installations, and follow-up evaluations.
- Help document successful customer results and convert those results into case studies, testimonials, referrals, and follow-on sales opportunities.
- Identify opportunities to expand CRS product adoption across additional locations within existing customer groups.
Sales Operations
- Record all prospecting activity, customer communications, opportunities, and next steps in the company’s CRM.
- Maintain accurate and organized customer, facility, and contact information.
- Track outbound activity, meetings scheduled, qualified opportunities, pipeline value, proposals, pilots, installations, and conversions.
- Provide regular reports regarding sales activity, customer feedback, competitive developments, and pipeline progress.
- Work closely with company leadership to improve messaging, prospect targeting, qualification criteria, and sales processes.
- Maintain disciplined follow-up and ensure that promising opportunities continue moving forward.
Required Qualifications
- At least two years of professional experience in the car wash industry.
- Prior experience working with car wash owners, operators, equipment providers, chemical suppliers, distributors, installers, or service organizations.
- Strong understanding of professional car wash operations and the factors that influence wash quality, chemical performance, water usage, and operating expense.
- Demonstrated experience in sales, business development, account management, customer service, or another customer-facing commercial role.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Confidence initiating conversations with prospective customers by telephone, email, LinkedIn, and in person.
- Strong organizational skills and consistent attention to follow-up.
- Ability to learn technical products and explain their value in clear, practical business terms.
- Ability to work independently and remain productive in a fully remote position.
- Willingness to travel for customer meetings, installations, training, trade shows, and industry events.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, responsiveness, and personal accountability.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience selling car wash chemicals, equipment, water-treatment systems, reclaim systems, reverse-osmosis equipment, water softeners, pumps, controls, or related products.
- Existing relationships with car wash owners, regional chains, private-equity-backed platforms, equipment distributors, or chemical suppliers.
- Experience working for a car wash chemical company, equipment manufacturer, distributor, installer, service provider, or multi-site car wash operator.
