Full Job Description

Position: Corporate Revenye Cycle Director

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Logistics: Responsible for all Revenue Cycle Operations for a successful senior living provider in California. Direct corporate clinical billing, accounts recievable, and collections teams, with over sight of Revenue Cycle at the community level.

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer

Compensation range: $200k - $225k, exempt – salaried, bonus

Direct reports: Revenue Cycle Supervisors, Billers, A/R Associates, Collectors.

Responsible for: Direction and oversight of all Revenue Cycle operations for the company. Ensure efficient and accurate billing and coding of resident services. Maximize reimbursement, and minimize denials and payment delays. Manage team workflows and perfromance, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, and identify opportunities to improve the financial performance of the organization as a whole.

Position Summary:

Lead a team of Billers and Collectors to achieve business and financial objectives. Streamline revenue cycle processes, enhance productivity levels, introduce process improvements, and evaluate new and improved technology solutions. Maximize revenue, ensure the accurate and timely submission of insurance claims, and maintain rigorous compliance with regulatory standards. Directly responsible for the optimization of cash flow and driving the financial health of the company.

Responsibilities:

Oversee and direct the entire Revenue Cycle process, including resident admission, charge capture, coding, billing, payment posting, accounts receivable (AR) management, and collections.
Ensure timely and accurate billing of insurance claims and patient statements.
Identify and resolve issues related to underpayments, overpayments, and billing discrepancies.
Ensure strict adherence to all federal and state regulations, including HIPAA, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical coding standards to minimize compliance risk.
Proactively analyze accounts receivables, develop and execute strategies to aggressively manage denials, and collaborate with insurance providers to resolve complex claims and accelerate collections.
Lead, mentor, and supervise the Billing/Collections Teams. Provide ongoing training, conduct performance reviews, and continuously improve billing workflow and team efficiency.
Leverage experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) and specialized medical billing systems to streamline processes and report on key performance indicators (KPIs).
Partner with finance and operations teams to evaluate collection capabilities and adherence to payer contracts.
Assess and respond to current and future internal and external healthcare trends to establish and ensure the necessary direction for billing and collection activities.
Facilitate development of departmental mission, goals, policies, procedures, budget, and work standards.
Develop and implement the strategic vision of the organization’s overall Revenue Cycle. Work with other Department Directors and Managers to maximize teamwork and results across the Revenue Cycle spectrum.
Responsible for timely submission of all required documentation.
Ensure overall compliance with local, state, and federal laws, and Medicare, Medicaid, ALW, Cal-AIM regulations.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management or Business Administration – preferred.
5+ years of progressive medical billing/accounts receivable/collections experience directing Revenue Cycle for an Assisted Living, or Skilled Nursing Organization, serving in a management role at the regional or corporate level – required.
Possession of a relevant professional certification, such as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) and/or Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS) – preferred.
Revenue Cycle operations knowledge specific to senior living providers, with proven ability to interpret and apply complex billing and coding regulations – required.
Familiarity with PointClickCare (PCC) Revenue Cycle management/billing software for senior living providers – required.
Strong interpersonal skills and able to effectively work with all levels of the organization.
Knowledge of current Assisted Living/Skilled Nursing industry trends, regulations, and policies - highly preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Must be able to assess situations, identify issues, problems, and prioritize duties.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong computer skills.
