Full Job Description

Medical Interpreter (On-Site, All Languages) – Jacksonville

European Interpreter Service, Inc. is seeking qualified on-site medical interpreters in the Jacksonville, Florida area.

We are expanding our network of professional interpreters to provide in-person interpretation at major healthcare facilities in Jacksonville, including hospital and outpatient medical settings. Assignments are primarily in hospital and clinical settings, including major healthcare systems in Jacksonville.

Languages

We are interested in interpreters of all languages, with particular interest in:

Spanish, Arabic, Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Haitian Creole, Russian, Ukrainian, Turkish, Portuguese, French, Bosnian/Serbian/Croatian, Farsi, Dari, Pashto, Tagalog, Polish, Romanian, Karen and other languages.

Responsibilities

Provide accurate consecutive interpretation between patients and healthcare professionals
Interpret medical terminology, procedures, instructions, and patient-provider conversations accurately
Maintain strict patient confidentiality
Follow professional medical interpreting standards and ethics
Arrive on time and maintain professional conduct in healthcare environments

Qualifications

Fluency in English and at least one additional language
Ability to provide in-person interpretation in Jacksonville, Florida
Applicants must already reside in the Jacksonville, FL area or be able to reliably commute for on-site assignments
Medical interpreting experience preferred
Medical interpreter training or certification is a plus
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
Reliable transportation and professional appearance
Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Position

Independent Contractor (1099)In-person / On-siteJacksonville, Florida

Assignments are offered based on language needs and interpreter availability. This is an excellent opportunity for interpreters seeking flexible medical interpreting assignments.

Compensation

$28–$35 per hour, depending on language, qualifications, certification, and experience.

Flexible schedule. Interpreters may accept or decline assignments based on their availability.
