Full Job Description

A leading pharmaceutical company is seeking an R&D Lab & Inventory Technician to join their research operations team supporting sample management and laboratory logistics. This is a great opportunity for an early-career laboratory professional with hands-on experience in biological sample handling, inventory management, and research lab operations who is looking to gain experience within a large-scale drug discovery environment. This is a 6-month contract onsite 5 days per week in Worcester, MA.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in biology, experience working with biologic materials, and the ability to maintain accuracy in a highly organized lab setting. This role will focus on managing research samples, maintaining inventory systems, supporting lab workflows, and ensuring materials are stored and tracked properly.

Contract Duration: 6 months
Required Skills & Experience

Manage and maintain biological simple inventory, including tracking, organization, and storage of materials.
Perform sample processing activities including aliquoting and handling biological materials under controlled conditions
Maintain and monitor -80°C freezer inventory and storage requirements
Support sample receiving, order fulfillment, and shipment coordination
Update inventory records and maintain accurate documentation within laboratory databases
Assist with laboratory supply management and general lab operations
Follow established SOPs and safety procedures for handling biological materials and laboratory waste
Troubleshoot basic lab equipment and automation processes as needed

Desired Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or related life science field.
2-5 years of experience in a laboratory, biotech, pharmaceutical, or research environment
Hands-on experience with sample management systems and inventory databases
Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to perform tasks accurately
