Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Distribution Center Manager to lead our warehouse operations with energy and precision. This pivotal role involves overseeing all aspects of supply chain management, inventory control, logistics, and warehouse distribution to ensure seamless order fulfillment and operational excellence. As a key leader, you will drive process improvements, optimize transportation planning, and foster a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous growth. Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate all distribution center activities, including shipping & receiving, order picking & packing, and materials handling, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment.
Manage inventory levels through effective inventory management strategies, demand planning, and inventory control systems to minimize waste and maximize availability.
Oversee transportation management systems (TMS) and logistics operations, including freight negotiations, fleet management, dispatching, and third-party logistics (3PL) partnerships.
Implement process improvements utilizing supply chain analytics and data analysis skills to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall warehouse performance.
Supervise procurement activities such as sourcing, pricing negotiations, category management, and procurement processes to support operational needs.
Ensure compliance with safety standards by managing forklift operations, materials handling procedures, and warehouse experience best practices.
Utilize ERP systems like AS400 or similar platforms for order fulfillment tracking, shipping & receiving documentation, and warehouse management system (WMS) oversight.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sourcing, packaging, demand planning, and e-commerce to streamline operations across the supply chain continuum.
Monitor KPIs related to warehouse distribution efficiency, inventory accuracy, shipping accuracy, and transportation costs to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills

Extensive knowledge of supply chain management principles including logistics planning, procurement strategies, and category management.
Proficiency in inventory management systems (such as WMS), transportation management systems (TMS), ERP platforms like AS400 or equivalent software.
Strong understanding of warehouse operations including picking & packing, shipping & receiving, materials handling equipment like forklifts, CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), and dispatching procedures.
Demonstrated ability in process improvement methodologies such as lean management or Six Sigma to optimize workflows.
Excellent data analysis skills for supply chain analytics that inform decision-making on demand planning and inventory control.
Experience managing freight logistics including NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) operations for international shipments.
Ability to lead teams effectively while fostering a safety-first environment; familiarity with warehouse experience standards is essential.
Strong communication skills for coordinating with suppliers, carriers (including NVOCC), vendors for sourcing activities, and internal departments such as packaging or procurement.
