Full Job Description

Job Summary

Seeking a dedicated IBCLC to join the Families in Bloom clinical team. The ideal candidate will provide clinical and educational lactation care across various settings, including in home, virtual, office, and community health

Job Description

Provide comprehensive prenatal and postpartum lactation consultations in clients’ homes and occasionally virtually, or in office
Perform thorough assessments of infant feeding, including latch, positioning, milk transfer, infant oral function, and maternal lactation & feeding history
Develop individualized, evidence-based care plans aligned with family goals and current clinical standards
Provide education and therapeutic counseling on breastfeeding, chestfeeding, pumping, bottle feeding, combination feeding, and return-to-work planning
Document all clinical encounters accurately and promptly in the electronic medical record
Communicate professionally with families, healthcare providers, and referral sources as appropriate and within scope
Maintain compliance with HIPAA, IBCLC scope of practice, and Families in Bloom policies and procedures
Participate in team meetings, case consultation, and ongoing practice development activities
Represent Families in Bloom with professionalism, warmth, and clinical integrity in all settings
Complete clear, thorough, and timely clinical documentation that supports medical necessity and insurance billing requirements
Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to clinical care and reimbursement integrity

Qualifications

Current and active International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) credential (required)
If licensed as a healthcare professional (e.g., RN, NP), license must be active and in good standing in Massachusetts
1–2 years of clinical lactation experience preferred (hospital, outpatient, or private practice)
Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and documentation skills
Ability to work independently while collaborating within a group practice model
Comfort providing care in clients’ homes and adapting to varied home environments
Reliable transportation and ability to travel locally throughout Norfolk County Massachusetts
Proficiency with electronic health records and telehealth platforms
Successful completion of CORI/SORI background checks, as required in Massachusetts

Job Type: Part-time

Expected hours: 10.0 – 20.0 per week
