OEM/Miller, Division of ILPEA Industries fabricates corrugated plastic and rubber tubing for a wide variety of industries including appliance, truck and auto, medical and machining manufacturing. We supply both standard convoluted plastic tubing and a wide variety of specially engineered products to meet the most demanding specifications and the trickiest engineering requirements including complex assemblies, our patent-pending co-extrusion dual-material products and specialty cuffs.
SUMMARY
Provides technical service to customers as it relates to new product development, cost savings, redesigns and introduction of new technologies. Coordinate, develop, and improve processes in production and assembly.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Work in the field with customers on new and existing product development.
Assist customers with existing products and technical issues as requested by sales.
Deal directly with engineering, quality and manufacturing of assigned customers in handling complaints, questions or inquiries about any of the firm's products. Must be able to explain technical issues for lay person's comprehension.
Work with assigned customers to develop prints for new and existing products. This will include APQP process, negotiation of major and critical dimensions, FMEA, and recommended assembly procedures.
Must be thoroughly familiar with our product portfolio and manufacturing capabilities. This information will be used in developing applications that are profitably manufacturable.
Prepare progress report on developmental programs and recommend the expansion or discontinuance of such programs in conjunction with engineering, marketing, sales, manufacturing and other top management.
Must be familiar with current raw materials used and must research and recommend new materials as they impact manufacturing efficiencies and cost savings programs.
Consult with operating and sales personnel on new and improved products, processes, and materials.
Work with engineering and sales in preparing special quotes. Supply information on competitive pricing for target product replacement.
Recommend changes in product lines and production emphasis, research and report on how such changes will affect sales volume, expenses, profitability and sales/engineering effort required.
Report customer feedback with regards to our company's performance in technical support issues.
As a customer focused business, our intent is to understand, at all times, what their expectations are of us. The Project Engineer will work closely with sales to identify these needs and communicate them back to the OEM/Miller team.
Aid in developing and improving production processes for new and current products.
Identify and prioritize programs not up to quoted production standards and set up improvement implementation time tables coupled with profit/loss analysis.
Further develop and maintain process FMEA's.
Assist in Design of Experiments to improve processes.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university in engineering or related field; or equivalent related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have an understanding of advanced quality engineering principles, as well as basic computer skills.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees and customers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
