KALLATI is seeking a Director of Independent Retail Sales to lead the expansion of our independent retail business throughout the United States. What You'll Do
As our Director of Independent Retail Sales, you will:
- Develop and execute KALLATI's national strategy for expanding the independent retail sales channel.
- Identify, pursue, and open new independent jewelry retailers by leveraging your existing industry relationships, prospecting efforts, buying groups, trade shows, and in-person selling.
- Personally generate wholesale revenue by conducting retailer visits, presentations, account development meetings, and ongoing relationship management.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of high-potential independent jewelry retailers, regional retail groups, and wholesale opportunities.
- Partner with retailers to recommend product assortments, merchandising strategies, trunk show opportunities, and sales initiatives that drive sell-through and account growth.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to independent retailers while strengthening long-term partnerships and customer loyalty.
- Collaborate with Leadership, Merchandising, Product Development, Marketing, Operations, Shipping, and Customer Service to ensure exceptional account support and execution.
- Analyze market trends, customer feedback, competitive activity, and sales performance to identify opportunities for continued growth.
- Develop sales processes, reporting, account planning, pipeline management, and performance metrics that support long-term scalability.
- Help recruit, onboard, coach, and develop future independent sales representatives as the organization continues to grow.
What We're Looking For

- Entrepreneurial, self-directed, and comfortable working independently in a remote, field-based environment.
- An exceptional communicator with strong presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Commercially minded with a passion for growing revenue and developing long-term customer partnerships.
- Comfortable traveling extensively throughout the United States.
Qualifications
- 7 to 10+ years of experience in wholesale sales, national account development, independent retail sales, field sales leadership, or business development within the fine jewelry, luxury goods, or related industries.
- Proven success opening new independent retail accounts while consistently growing wholesale revenue.
- Established network of independent jewelry retailers, buying groups, regional retail partners, or wholesale jewelry accounts strongly preferred.
- Experience selling branded fine jewelry, bridal jewelry, fashion jewelry, diamonds, colored gemstones, or other luxury products.
- Experience supporting trunk shows, trade shows, retailer events, account visits, and in-person sales presentations.
- Previous experience building or managing a sales territory, independent representative network, wholesale sales channel, or retail account development strategy preferred.
- Strong presentation, negotiation, communication, relationship management, and follow-up skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, along with CRM systems, sales reporting tools, and pipeline management software.
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout the United States.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $145,000 to $160,000 annually, depending on experience.
- Commission Eligibility: Additional commission opportunities available based on sales performance.
- Total Compensation: Overall compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, wholesale sales background, industry relationships, and demonstrated ability to drive independent retail sales growth.
- Travel Reimbursement: All approved business travel and related business expenses are reimbursed in accordance with company policy.

Working Environment
- Remote, field-based leadership position.
- Extensive travel throughout the United States.
- Frequent customer meetings, retailer visits, buying group events, trunk shows, trade shows, and business development activities.

Physical Requirements
This position requires frequent travel by automobile and airplane, regular lifting and transportation of jewelry sample cases and marketing materials weighing up to 25 pounds, extended periods of driving and walking during customer visits and trade events, and daily use of computers, phones, and other business technology.
