Social Media Content Creator Internship

Overview

We are seeking a creative, energetic, and motivated Social Media Content Creator Intern to join our growing medical technology organization. This is a hands-on internship for someone who enjoys creating videos, social media, photography, editing, and finding creative ways to tell a story.

The primary goal of this position is simple: create content—and lots of it.

We already have an extensive library of videos, product demonstrations, educational materials, interviews, testimonials, research, manufacturing footage, and other content that can be repurposed into engaging social media posts. We also want this person to regularly create new and original content around our medical technologies, employees, facilities, manufacturing operations, events, and company activities.

You will have an opportunity to work around medical devices, engineering, manufacturing, sales, marketing, and other areas of a growing medical technology company. We want someone who can look around our organization and constantly find interesting things worth turning into content.

This is an internship position, so extensive professional experience is not required. We are willing to teach the right person. What matters most is creativity, initiative, consistency, comfort with social media, and a genuine desire to create.

Responsibilities

Create engaging and consistent social media content surrounding our medical technologies, products, people, research, manufacturing, and company activities
Review our existing video library and identify content that can be repurposed into shorter and more engaging pieces
Turn long-form videos into Instagram Reels, Facebook Reels, YouTube Shorts, TikTok-style videos, clips, and other short-form content
Film new content throughout our facilities using smartphones, cameras, and other available equipment
Capture product demonstrations, behind-the-scenes footage, manufacturing processes, employee features, educational content, company events, and other interesting moments
Edit videos by adding captions, titles, transitions, graphics, logos, music, and other appropriate elements
Write engaging captions and accompanying copy for social media posts
Help maintain an active and consistent presence across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, and other relevant platforms
Develop creative ideas for new videos, recurring content series, educational posts, and social media campaigns
Help take technical or medical information and present it in a way that is interesting and understandable to a broader audience
Assist with content surrounding product launches, research announcements, trade shows, conferences, customer visits, and other company events
Organize our growing library of photos, videos, graphics, and other digital assets
Stay familiar with current social media trends and identify appropriate opportunities for our brands
Help maintain a content calendar and ensure that new content is being produced and published consistently
Review engagement and basic performance information to identify which types of content perform best
Work with our sales, marketing, engineering, manufacturing, and leadership teams to find new stories and content opportunities
Assist with other creative and marketing projects as needed

Requirements

Strong interest in social media, content creation, digital marketing, video production, photography, communications, or advertising
Creative personality with the ability to recognize interesting content opportunities
Comfortable filming photos and videos with a smartphone or camera
Familiarity with platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and TikTok
Basic experience editing video using CapCut, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Canva, Videoleap, or similar applications is preferred
Ability to take longer videos and identify the best moments for short-form content
Good written communication skills
Strong attention to detail, particularly with spelling, captions, branding, and visual presentation
Comfortable learning about medical technology and turning what you learn into interesting content
Organized and capable of managing multiple pieces of content simultaneously
Self-motivated and comfortable taking an idea from concept through finished content
Willing to experiment, receive feedback, learn, and continuously improve
Dependable, professional, and comfortable interacting with employees throughout the organization
Current students or recent graduates in marketing, communications, advertising, digital media, film, graphic design, business, or related fields are encouraged to apply, but a specific degree or major is not required
Applicants are encouraged to share examples of videos, photography, social media accounts, school projects, YouTube channels, TikTok content, or other work that demonstrates their creativity

Internship & Growth Opportunity

This is intended to be a real, hands-on internship. We are not looking for someone to spend their internship watching other people work or performing unrelated administrative tasks. We want you creating.

You will have existing material to work with from day one, while also having the freedom to identify opportunities for original content and develop new ideas.

Our organization operates across medical technology, manufacturing, engineering, research, sales, marketing, and international business, giving you access to subject matter that is very different from what you would find in a typical social media internship.

For an intern who demonstrates creativity, initiative, consistency, and the ability to produce great content, there may be an opportunity to grow into a permanent position in social media, content creation, digital marketing, or another area of our marketing department.
