About the Role
We're looking for a hands-on marketer who has grown a B2C consumer product — ideally a mobile app, digital health product, or subscription service — and is ready to own the full user lifecycle for Best Life: attraction, engagement, and retention.
This person will also build and grow the Program Marketplace on Open Life Cloud, attracting creators, influencers, and developers to publish health and wellness programs.
This is a practical, execution-focused role in a small team. Success means consistently delivering finished work — not drafts, not decks, not strategies that never ship. If your background is primarily real estate, nonprofit, banking, workforce development, or B2B enterprise marketing, this role is not a fit.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the user lifecycle for the Best Life app: define user types, understand value, and drive attraction, engagement, and retention.
- Develop positioning, messaging, and storytelling grounded in how people actually use the app, including its conversational AI features.
- Create and manage content across channels: blog, email, in-app messaging, landing pages, app store listings, and social.
- Manage day-to-day marketing operations: advertising, app store presence, website, Discourse community, and Zoho CRM.
- Work directly with product and engineering to understand new features, gather user feedback, and translate that into marketing improvements.
- Use the app regularly — including its chat features — to generate authentic user stories and identify friction points.
- Build and report on practical metrics for acquisition, engagement, and retention. Close the loop between marketing activity and real results.
- Build and grow the Program Marketplace by attracting health and wellness creators, influencers, and developers to publish programs.
Requirements
- 4+ years of hands-on marketing experience owning growth, content, or product marketing for a B2C consumer product. Mobile apps, subscription services, or digital health products are the target profile. B2B-only backgrounds are not a fit for this role.
- Demonstrated ability to run campaigns from concept to published, with specific metrics you can speak to — conversion rates, CAC, retention lift, or engagement growth. Vague answers like "increased brand awareness" without supporting numbers are a red flag in our screening process.
- Strong writing and editing skills — you produce polished, finished output, not drafts that someone else cleans up.
- You use AI tools daily. For drafting, ideation, A/B copy variants, research synthesis, or workflow acceleration. You'll be asked in screening to name the tools you use and describe something you built with one in the last 30 days. "I'm still exploring AI" is not the answer we're looking for.
- Experience working closely with product and engineering — you can read a changelog, talk to a developer, and turn what you learn into marketing.
- Genuine curiosity about health, wellness, or behavior-change products — you understand what moves people to build better habits.
- Local to the Raleigh, NC area and able to come into the office one day per week. Candidates willing to relocate are welcome to apply but must confirm relocation plans before advancing.
Nice to Have
- Direct experience marketing a mobile app: user acquisition funnels, push or in-app messaging, app store optimization, or retention campaigns.
- Experience in health, wellness, fitness, or behavior-change products.
- Experience managing creator or influencer programs, or growing a marketplace audience.
- Community management experience (Discourse, Slack, or similar).
- CRM experience (Zoho or similar).
