PAY IS COMMENSURATE WITH EXPERIENCE

Loan Assistant / Loan Operations Specialist

Position Summary
The Loan Assistant supports the lending team by preparing and processing loan documentation, entering loan information into the bank's operating system, and providing excellent service to customers and coworkers. This position works closely with loan officers and other team members to ensure loans are processed accurately and efficiently while maintaining compliance with bank policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare and process loan documentation for consumer, commercial, and agricultural loans.
Accurately enter loan information and documentation into the bank's operating system.
Assist loan officers with administrative and operational duties.
Perfect collateral liens and ensure required documentation is properly filed.
Communicate with customers regarding loan documentation, requirements, and follow-up items.
Answer incoming phone calls and direct inquiries as appropriate.
Maintain and organize loan files to ensure completeness and compliance.
Work collaboratively with team members to support efficient loan operations.
Perform other related duties as assigned. This may include back up teller duties on occasion.

Qualifications

Strong ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to learn quickly and develop a thorough understanding of bank lending functions and processes.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Prior banking or lending experience is preferred but not required.
