Full Job Description

Location: Torrance, California - Del Amo Fashion Center
Compensation: $70,000 annual starting salary. Salary increase based on sales and profitability.

New sushi restaurant and looking for a highly motivated, experienced General Manager to lead our team and ensure a successful launch and long-term profitability.

Position Overview:
The General Manager will oversee all aspects of restaurant operations, including staff management, guest satisfaction, financial performance, and overall efficiency. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and understands both front-of-house and back-of-house operations.

Responsibilities:

Lead daily operations to ensure smooth service and excellent guest experience
Hire, train, and manage staff across all departments
Maintain high standards for food quality, service, and cleanliness
Oversee ordering, inventory control, and vendor relationships
Handle scheduling, labor cost control, and payroll review
Manage accounting, financial reporting, and profitability goals
Develop and execute strategies to increase sales and customer loyalty
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations
Represent the restaurant in a professional and welcoming manner
Utilize Toast POS system for efficient order management, inventory tracking, and sales reporting.
Maintain and build vendor relationships
Manage food cost
Oversee marketing
Provide reports to ownership

Requirements:

Proven experience as a General Manager or Assistant Manager in a restaurant
(sushi experience preferred)
Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of restaurant accounting and profit & loss management
Excellent communication and customer service abilities
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Compensation:

$70,000/annual base starting salary
Profit sharing based on performance and profitability available after proven success after 1 year.
