Full Job Description

The Kupu ʻĀina Corps (KAC) is a paid workforce development initiative that offers hands-on experience in Hawaiʻi’s environmental sector. We're hiring for a variety of roles with our partner organizations across the islands of Hawaiʻi Island, Kauaʻi, Maui, Molokaʻi, and Oʻahu.

About the Program & Your Role

As a KAC Participant, you will be selected by a "Host Site" organization that fits your skills and interests. We offer both part-time (20 hours/week) and full-time (40 hours/week) positions for either a 6-month or 12-month term.

Your responsibilities will vary based on your placement but may include:

Invasive species removal
Native plant restoration
Native wildlife conservation
Sustainable agriculture/Food production
Data collection and analysis
Community outreach and engagement
Trail maintenance
GIS mapping

You don't need prior experience in the environmental sector. What you do need is a strong desire to learn and a passion for protecting Hawaiʻi's natural environment. Our program and Host Site partners will provide you with valuable mentorship, training, and professional development opportunities to help you succeed.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay: $20.00 per hour
Medical Insurance: Kaiser HMO 201 medical plan available
Paid Time Off: 20 to 120 hours, based on program duration
Retention Bonus: $200 to $800, based on program duration

Applicant Requirements

Be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, U.S. Permanent Resident, or legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Most positions have a minimum age requirement (see our website for details).
You must be responsible for your own housing and transportation.
Prior experience is not required for most roles but may be preferred for some.
