POSITION SUMMARY:
InquisIT’s team is seeking a Website and Digital Media person to join our team. We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and technically capable intern to support the company’s graphics, publishing, website, and social media efforts. This internship is ideal for a student or early-career professional who is comfortable using modern design, web publishing, and social media tools to create polished, professional digital and print-ready materials.
You will receive content direction and substantial support in developing written messaging. The primary focus of the role is not independent content strategy, but rather the ability to use the right tools to design, format, publish, maintain, and monitor marketing and communications materials for InquisIT. Work may include supporting the InquisIT website, marketing documentation, logos, letterhead, branded templates, digital graphics, and social media content.
You will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting the marketing and communications needs of a professional IT services company, build a portfolio of practical design, website, publishing and social media work. You will also gain valuable experience learning how to translate approved content into polished digital and print ready materials while also strengthening your technical skills in design software, website publishing platforms and social media tolls.
This is a part-time / remote role.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Create and update graphics for marketing materials, website content, presentations, social media posts, internal communications, and branded collateral.
- Assist with development, formatting, and publishing of marketing documentation, one-pagers, flyers, capability statements, newsletters, letterhead, templates, and related business materials.
- Assist with the creation and formatting of professional PowerPoint presentations, including slide layouts, visual consistency, graphics, charts, tables, and branded presentation templates.
- Support updates to the InquisIT website using website development, publishing, and hosting tools such as Wix, Squarespace, WordPress, Webflow, Shopify, Framer, Duda, or similar platforms.
- Help maintain consistent branding across digital and print materials, including logos, colors, typography, layouts, and reusable templates.
- Prepare visual assets for multiple formats, including web, social media, email, PDF, and print-ready documents.
- Publish approved content to social media platforms and assist with monitoring posts, engagement, comments, and basic performance indicators.
- Organize and maintain digital files, design assets, templates, graphics, and brand materials for easy reuse by the company.
- Coordinate with company leadership or designated staff to receive content, feedback, approvals, and publication direction.
- Recommend improvements to visual presentation, formatting, brand consistency, and publishing workflows.
- Perform basic quality checks to ensure materials are accurate, professional, visually consistent, and ready for use.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Proficiency with industry-standard graphic design software, such as Adobe Creative Cloud applications, Canva, Figma, or comparable tools.
- Experience creating digital graphics, layouts, templates, icons, social media visuals, or marketing collateral.
- Familiarity with website development, website editing, hosting, and publishing tools, including Wix, Squarespace, WordPress, Webflow, Shopify, Framer, Duda, or similar platforms.
- Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, including the ability to create professional presentation decks, apply consistent formatting, use templates, insert and format graphics, and organize information visually.
- Understanding of social media platforms and the basic steps needed to format, schedule, publish, and monitor content.
- Ability to follow brand guidance and apply consistent formatting, visual style, and messaging across materials.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple small projects or content updates simultaneously.
- Comfort working with feedback and revising materials based on direction from company stakeholders.
- Basic understanding of image sizing, file formats, resolution, accessibility considerations, and web-ready design practices.
- Clear written communication skills and professionalism when coordinating with internal team members.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks, asking clarifying questions as needed, incorporate feedback quickly and maintain a high standard of quality and consistency.
Preferred Skills and Certifications:
- Coursework or experience in graphic design, digital media, marketing, communications, web design, visual arts, or a related field.
- Experience updating business websites, landing pages, blogs, or online content libraries.
- Experience developing social media graphics or posts for LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with basic analytics or performance monitoring for websites and social media platforms.
- Interest in government contracting, technology services, cybersecurity, enterprise IT, or professional services marketing.
- Ability to create simple brand guides, visual templates, or reusable design systems.
- Residency in Maine is preferred.
