Full Job Description

Job Summary:
Mountain Spring Vascular LLC DBA National Vascular Associates & Mountain Spring Podiatry is seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Certified Professional Coder (CPC) with strong experience, particularly Evaluation and Management (E&M) visits, to support our specialty clinical operations. Experience in vascular surgery and/or podiatry coding is a strong plus. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate, compliant, and timely coding of physician services, with a focus on maximizing reimbursement while maintaining strict adherence to payer guidelines and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Assign accurate CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS codes for professional services, with emphasis on E&M coding.
Review provider documentation for completeness, specificity, and compliance with coding guidelines.
Perform coding for vascular and/or podiatry services including office visits and procedures
Ensure appropriate use of modifiers and adherence to payer-specific rules.
Query providers when documentation is unclear, incomplete, or inconsistent.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of CMS guidelines, payer policies, and coding updates.
Support charge capture accuracy and reduce claim denials through proactive coding review.
Collaborate with providers, billing teams, and compliance staff to resolve coding issues.
Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times.
Participate in internal audits and coding quality improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

Active Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credential (AAPC or equivalent required).
Strong knowledge of coding guidelines including office/outpatient and complex visits
Experience with E&M coding processes and documentation requirements.
Proficiency in ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience coding for vascular surgery and/or podiatry practices.
Familiarity with surgical coding, wound care, and in-office procedures
Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and coding software systems, Athena a plus
Prior experience in multi-specialty or high-volume physician practice settings.
Knowledge of payer audits, compliance reviews, and denial management.
