Salary rate starting at $63,000; increase based on experience

Purpose and Scope of Job:

Primarily responsible for performing accounting functions necessary for the day-to-day operations to include Capital assets, sales tax compliance, accruals, journal entries, month end tasks, manage large vendor accounts, and account reconciliations.

Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned):

- Maintain general ledger accounts and related activities to produce financial statements and reports.
- Maintain depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, reconciliation, and assist with the semi-annual FA audits.
- Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accurate cash balances and identify discrepancies.
- Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations, which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, monthly accruals, recording of adjusting and reclassification journal entries, in accordance with GAAP.
- Participate in the month end, quarter, and year end closing process
- Prepare and analyze the monthly departmental budget to actual for variances.
- Managing the company’s fleet vehicles and lease related accounting procedure
- Managed several large vendor accounts.
- Compile and prepare the sales tax data for monthly compliance.
- Prepare documentation in support of external and internal audits.
- Completing the US Census in a timely manner
- Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
- Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance, or equivalent experience
- Two (2) years accounting experience in medium to large corporation.
- Working knowledge of GAAP.
- Strong competency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Any additional essential skills and/or knowledge as shown in the HRIS Career & Education > Skills section for incumbents holding this job title.
