If you’re nodding “yes,” then Toufayan Bakeries of Plant City wants you on our team! We’re looking for a Maintenance Mechanic III, a hands-on problem solver with the skills and drive to keep our state-of-the-art bakery running at its best.
Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Mechanic III plays a vital role in ensuring that all facility systems and equipment operate at peak performance. This position is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing production, packaging, and related equipment throughout the shift. The ideal candidate will take ownership of implementing and improving the preventive maintenance (PM) program, accurately diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment issues, and identifying opportunities to enhance performance. The Maintenance Mechanic III is a hands-on problem solver who ensures maximum efficiency, reliability, and safety across all operations.
Responsibilities:
- Master at repairing and troubleshooting bakery equipment and systems.
- Utilizes Lock-Out/Tag-Out, Confined Space, and Hazard Material Handling procedures
- Capable of training mechanics on power transmissions, electrical, and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Provides direct support to production, sanitation, and quality systems related to ensuring company policies and procedures, along with ensuring full compliance with BRC and Bimbo audit compliance criteria.
- Responsible for completing technical work assignments with minimal supervision.
- Capable of identifying equipment parts and components that are required to repair and maintain equipment.
- Adept at preventive, predictive, and proactive maintenance.
- Recommends solutions to the maintenance manager, maintenance supervisor to improve equipment performance.
- Capable of overhauling process systems and equipment to ensure optimal equipment uptime.
- Recommends improvements related to preventive maintenance procedures.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Associate's degree or technical degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent work-related experience.
- 5-10 years of industrial maintenance experience.
- HVAC Certification preferred
- Arc, or Heli-Arc welding, lathe, milling machine, sheet metal fabrication, plumbing, and pipe fitting experience.
- Programmable Logic Control troubleshooting experience and possesses the ability to change ladder diagrams.
- Electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting knowledge.
Physical Requirements:
- Capable of moving up and down building stairways in a multi-level plant to reach job assignments and perform the tasks required.
- Must be capable of exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Tasks require working from a ladder or elevated platform and in confined spaces such as ovens, proof boxes, and bulk storage bins or tanks.
- Physical activities required are climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, twisting, bending, talking, and hearing.
- May work in outside environments, both in good and inclement weather.

Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
