Position: Technical Trainer
Location: Windsor Mill, MD 21244
Shift: 1st Shift
Pay Rate: $20.00 - $22.00/Hourly (depending on experience)
Full-Time - 40 hours weekly
Interview: In Person
Ability to Commute to Windsor Mill, MD 21244

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Technical Trainer to oversee the onboarding and continuous skill development of our production team. You will be responsible for developing comprehensive training programs, delivering classroom and on-the-floor instruction, and ensuring all assemblies strictly adhere to industry quality and safety standards. This position will report to VP of Operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary.

Develop Training Materials: Create step-by-step Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), visual aids, and interactive training modules covering wire preparation, soldering, and crimping.
Deliver Instruction: Conduct hands-on training for new hires and cross-train current production staff on reading complex blueprints, schematics, and work instructions.
Standard Certification: Train and test employees on industry-recognized workmanship standards.
Quality Assurance: Monitor assembly performance, conduct process audits, and provide immediate retraining to assemblers to reduce defects and waste.
Safety & Compliance: Enforce ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) and FOD (Foreign Object Debris) prevention protocols on the production floor.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required: (Education and/or Experience: )

Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience building custom cable/wire assemblies, wire harnesses, and electro-mechanical panels.
Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of wire stripping, terminal crimping, soldering, pinning contacts, and operating wire processing equipment (e.g., crimp presses, strippers).
Certifications: Active or highly-prepared-to-attain proper IPC Certifications
Communication: Exceptional ability to explain complex technical concepts, translate engineering drawings into digestible lessons, and provide constructive feedback.
Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or Vocational/Technical certification in electronics or a related field is highly preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience in a manufacturing training or lead assembler role.
Experience with aerospace/military wire harness manufacturing.
Proficiency with Microsoft Suite.
Proficiency with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret internal order documentation. Proficient in reading, writing and speaking English. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret internal order documentation. Fluency in Spanish or Russian is a plus but not a requirement.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate basic information such as quantities, lengths and amounts.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to follow instructions and procedures
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must possess durable and reliable hand strength and manual dexterity to grip, hold, manipulate, and work on cables continuously throughout the workday. Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist movements for extended periods. Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods during scheduled shifts. Ability to lift and move materials and cable assemblies as required. Good vision and attention to detail for inspection and assembly tasks. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
