On-Call Wedding Ceremony Witness & Assistant
Las Vegas Wedding Officiant
Las Vegas / Henderson, NV
Job Type: Contract / On-Call
Pay: $25–$60 per hour equivalent, depending on assignment
Schedule: Flexible, as-needed assignments
About the Opportunity
Las Vegas Wedding Officiant is seeking dependable local individuals for occasional, on-call civil wedding ceremony and elopement assignments throughout the Las Vegas area.
This is an on-call, per-assignment opportunity rather than a traditional part-time position. There are no fixed schedules, minimum weekly hours, or guaranteed number of assignments.
When assistance is needed for a ceremony, available individuals may be contacted with the date, time, location, expected duration, responsibilities, and compensation. You are free to accept or decline each assignment based on your availability.
This opportunity is best suited for individuals seeking flexible, supplemental assignments rather than consistent weekly hours.
What You May Do
Depending on the assignment, responsibilities may include:
- Serving as a witness for a marriage ceremony
- Arriving at the ceremony location at the agreed time
- Witnessing a civil ceremony or elopement
- Signing the marriage certificate as a witness when applicable
- Providing light ceremony assistance as requested
- Occasionally helping with simple setup or coordination
- Taking a few casual photos or behind-the-scenes images when specifically agreed upon
Most ceremonies are relatively brief, although total assignment time varies based on the ceremony, location, travel, and other circumstances.
Ceremonies may take place at our downtown Las Vegas office or at hotels, residences, wedding venues, parks, outdoor locations, and other locations throughout the Las Vegas area.
Who We're Looking For
The most important qualities are reliability, punctuality, professionalism, and communication.
Applicants should:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have reliable transportation
- Be comfortable traveling within the Las Vegas Valley and occasionally to surrounding areas
- Be dependable once an assignment is accepted
- Communicate promptly regarding accepted assignments
- Be comfortable working with couples from diverse backgrounds
- Maintain a professional, welcoming, and respectful demeanor
- Be comfortable attending civil, secular, religious, LGBTQ+, intercultural, and personalized ceremonies
- Be able to follow straightforward instructions and respect client privacy
- Dress appropriately and presentably for the particular ceremony
Weekend, morning, evening, and occasional short-notice availability is helpful, but you are not expected to be available for every assignment.
Photography Experience
Photography experience is welcome but not required.
Professional photography assignments are separate from standard witness and ceremony-assistant assignments. If you are a photographer, content creator, or photography student, you are welcome to include a portfolio or social media link with your application.
Applicants interested only in witness and ceremony-assistant assignments are equally welcome.
Compensation
Compensation is provided per assignment and will be communicated before you decide whether to accept an assignment.
The hourly range displayed in this posting is an approximate equivalent for purposes of the job listing. Actual assignment compensation may vary based on the location, expected duration, travel, responsibilities, and other assignment-specific considerations.
Parking, tolls, longer-distance travel, or other approved assignment-related expenses may be factored into compensation when appropriate.
There are no guaranteed hours or guaranteed number of assignments.
How Assignments Work
When an opportunity becomes available:
- Suitable individuals are contacted with the assignment details.
- You review the date, time, general location, responsibilities, expected duration, and compensation.
- You accept or decline based on your availability.
- Once an assignment is accepted and confirmed, we rely on you to arrive as agreed because your presence may be necessary for the couple's ceremony to proceed.
Being part of the on-call roster does not require you to remain available during specific hours or accept every opportunity.
We understand that unexpected circumstances can occur. However, reliability and timely communication after accepting an assignment are especially important.
This May Be a Good Fit For
This opportunity may work particularly well for:
- Students with flexible schedules
- Retirees or semi-retired professionals

- Hospitality or event-support professionals
