This is not a job for someone who needs steady hours and counts on getting a decent paycheck. This is more of a part time job for those who feel a need to help the elderly. The pay is very low for what the job is. Unfortunately you get treated bad by some clients and theres nothing you can do. My supervisor basically told me to get over it because I have to get along with the client. Also unfortunately at times you get treated like a maid and are told to do things you are not allowed to do per contract, then you are stuck with explaining your job description to clients. Some clients just like to give orders as if they were your boss, which is very humiliating and made me feel degraded when they would argue with me but then still wanted me to do whatever it is they asked for. This job is basically for people who care to help but are not scared to say no and walk away from bad situations. Good luck. One last thing you have to use your own car to transport the clients if they need to go anywhere. No gas or mile reimbursements.

I have been with the company long enough and I can say that  it is a great place to work. Professional and fun working atmosphere. Manageable work load.  Management who listens, and you feel part of the team. You are always appreciated for your hard work. Satisfying salaries, bonuses, and technological advances give you enough reasons to work for this company and help it grow. The company is always on top of the changes that Medicare offers. Help is always offered. Friendly co-workers and helping colleagues. Also, the full time position offers great benefits, with health insurance and 401k plan.  I would highly recommend this company, great place to work!

They advertise fulltime opportunities but you will be lucky to get 20 hrs a week. Management is very unorganized and there are constantly new people working in the office who don't know what they're doing. 3 different people from Abcor on several occasions call asking the same question. They need to get on the same page with each other. They send you all over to clients expecting you to drive them places but offer you no reimbursement for milage. Client's can be really nice and friendly. I look forward to seeing mine.  Overall I'd only recommend working here if you don't really need much money maybe as a second job.

I feel that I am really blessed to be working for Abcor. I am always treated with respect and I feel that my work is worthwhile and matters. Management treats employees very well. They take employee opinions into consideration and strive to make Abcor a fun and dynamic place to work. Abcor's executive management and top level administrators are great people and treat employees very well. I am very happy with my position with the company and look forward to a long future together.

Unfortunately I have nothing nice to say unorganized unproductive unprofessional poor communication no respect for meeting times and will cancel days before no detail as to why or a reply when asked why the meeting was cancelled.i wouldn’t even give this place a star and I feel horrible for their clients who need a caregiver because I feel they don’t care about none of their clients or workers

Working for my mother so she want have to be in a nursing home

Taking surveys for state and having to go into the office to get paper work

I was working in my mother apartment and it was okay

At the Woodridge office the management has very poor communication and work ethic, clients complained to the workers all the time and workers had a hard time getting in touch with the managers in the office. The managers would call and tell you that they would process your request for certain clients from the list given in an email and they would never call you back or respond to the request.

Was coerced to take new admissions and work weekends as long as I had below 25 patients a week; patients assigned to me were scattered geographically with up to 26 miles between some of them. This was the case despite efficient logistical planning of visits the night before. 

I was considered part-time as long as patient load was below 25; often put in 70+ hours of work a week between charting and driving.

I enjoyed the clients I work for , but the management seemed to be cold to the clients simple needs . I don’t feel they give incentive to the employees or recognize the good work they do . They also say they pay for mileage but I didn’t receive it when I asked .

I've been fortunate to work in some wonderful places, and my current job has truly been a great experience. They've been incredibly flexible with my life as a mother, and the support I've received has been invaluable. I'm forever grateful for the opportunity to work here and appreciate the understanding and accommodating environment they've provided
