Age in Place Home Care

Age and place home care where more concerned about growing the business and would take any consumer without putting the consumers real needs in mind. They also knew my entire situation before hiring me, after I left a fulltime Monday threw Friday NO WEEKEND JOB! they ended up causing me problems with my schedule.  Also from from April to August on and off I had to call and report repeatedly of the client I had whom him and his wife were very disrespectful to employees multiple times I asked to be replaced with a new consumer they refused and then finally removed me in August as if it were my fault bc the client asked to remove me, then they "didn't  have enough consumers " to place me so put me on their "on call" barley had enough hours to pay for the gas for the ridiculous miles they had to drive if and when they called or needed a consumer filled. Nobody ever came and trained me at my first clients home. I also had a consumer train me on how to use his hoyer's lift.

Worked at AIPHC for nearly a year. At first I loved it but I received no training. When I was getting training out of my own pocket they didn't care nor did i receive a raise after 6 months like i was told i would upon hire. I try to never call off because my employer flat out told us she gave up finding people to cover the shifts so now I'm scared to call off due to how serious my clients case is. There are no incentives, no training, no pat on the back, the benefits(insurance provided) is awful, and if a client goes into the ER/Hospital all you get is sarcasm because its such an inconvenience for the office if a client needs extra help and they need to find you temporary work or do a little extra paperwork. AIPHC does nothing that shows they care for anything or anyone unless it suites them.

If you are a CNA home health is a cakewalk and a nice change of pace however Age in Place is not for a CNA. They are none medical and focus on housework. They allow clients to have outside personal relationships  with caregivers. They have no guarantees on hours and force you to take clients that should not be taken care of by a companion agency. Communication is a joke. Rarely do they return phone calls or messages. They dont have any training for you as a new aide to fo into client's home or provide any training for cares to be done which leaves you to wonder what you can and can't be doing. They just plug you into any shift they feel regardless of shift request. They don't have enough clients for amount of staff they have and continue to hire.

I have worked for this company since February of 2018. They are very understanding when you need to call off or take time off. They do their best to cover all shifts for the clients. They try to pair the client to the best employee for them. If an emergency comes up they understand and help the best they can. This is the second company I have worked for in this field and I enjoy working here soo much more than the other. If you have questions, they will answer them, if they don't know the answer they will find out. The thing I LOVE the most: THEY PASS ON COMMENTS FROM THE CLIENTS TO THE CAREGIVERS!  A little bit of positivity goes a long way especially on hard days! 

I have worked for AIPHC for two weeks now, they don't offer any benefits, no paid vacations, they don't train you prior to start, you basicly train yourself. I wish i could have a friendlier client but you get what you get. Sometimes i don't feel safe when the client sends me to go grocery shopping or just general shopping for clothes at night (my shift is at night). I think clients  and caregivers should receive a list of duties so the caregiver don't get over worked like moving furniture around in the clients home or lifting furniture and or changing and washing curtains it is not safe for either.  They call you or text you to work on your days off.

I love my job! The enjoyment I receive by helping those in need. It's the little things that make such a big difference! The office girls are always a big help when I'm in need of time off or just need an ear to listen. They never give a hard time when we go on our yearly family vacation for 2 weeks. I have been with them for over 2 years and never second guessed my choice to leave where I was. I work around my town and don't have to drive a long distance, sometimes get dropped off! My client is like my family and I couldn't be happier!

I was not happy with my job. They kept taking clients from me and not giving me replacements. It finally came down to me having one client twice a week for two hours and my pay checks were $55 every two weeks!!! They didn’t communicate well at all with clients family(I’ve seen it in person) nor with the employees. I was pregnant when I started and they put me with a client who need full lifting who refused to use the proper lift, which they knew about but didn’t hardly anything about it till I finally said I didn’t wanna with that person and took me off and only gave me the one person. I do not recommend working here!!!

I love my job, being able to help others feels rewarding. The staff at my agency is very friendly and efficient.  The hardest part of my job is seeing people who need specific attention and care and that their relatives do nothing to help their elderly.  What I enjoy most about my job is being able to give the attention and care that our elderly people need with affection and understanding.

They are very open to flexible schedules especially if you have school aged children. They are always there to answer questions when or if the caregiver has them. They offer caregiver appreciation and never give you a hard time if you need off. The hardest part of the job is being close to your client and then they pass. The office is fun, they decorate for all holidays and are community involved. They take pride in their employees and help anyway they can even if it is not work related. 

It appears that the organization may not be prioritizing the well-being of its clients. There have been instances where bedridden clients have been left unattended for extended periods, despite prior notice being given to the organization. Additionally, there seems to be a lack of effective communication and responsiveness from management, leading to uncertainty among clients regarding their caregivers. It is essential to ensure that the office is staffed with individuals who prioritize the care and well-being of clients and their loved ones.
