As an employee that works in Care Management but completely remotely I find myself being very happy with the work-life balance provided with my position. While I will sometimes work during non scheduled hours, it is always motivated by the knowledge that I’m helping a member in need. I do it because I want to, not because I feel required to do so. I have a very supportive supervisor and work team. I’m fairly vocal when I don’t agree with something or I am advocating for a member and it has been received well 99% of the time.  Is the company perfect?! No. But every company has room for growth and Alliance Health stands out because they are willing to make the changes required for growth. Additionally, they implement these changes as a result of employees’ input at all levels.  

Toxic work environment, no growth opportunities, and continuous act of Management treating experienced professional adults as children. Executive Leadership doesn’t hold specific credentials and relies heavily on hiring people with those credentials that report to them (i.e. VPs and Managers). This positions VPs and Managers to be needed in the organization. Allowing actions from VPs and Managers that traditionally would cause a HR up-roar at other organizations turned to a blind eye at Alliance Health. Specifically, Dept. of Financial Operations VPs and Managers have made numerous of great talent leave the organization because of their small mindedness, disrespectful and bullying actions, incompetent ways. Just in 2018-2019 alone out of a Dept. of less than 15 employees including Managers, 6 employees have resigned of significant titles.

Alliance is transparent with employees about any changes that will affect the company. The team that I am a part of works very well together. The department that I am in allows for growth. There have been many promotions within the department. Alliance offers the ability to work from home, good benefits, and work-life balance. I don't normally post reviews, but I noticed that there are many negative reviews here. I can't speak for anyone else, but in my time at Alliance, I have been able to keep up with the latest changes in the industry. My manager has allowed me to implement many of my ideas. Our team gets along well, and we all enjoy working for Alliance. There are so many new projects, and I am excited to be a part of it all.

I work from home which is great for me and my family.  I work as BH crisis Clinician and receive calls all day.  I have learned how to apply my clinical skills in a different way than direct care and how to direct callers to crisis services as needed.  Management and coworkers are very supportive and very patient.  They take into consideration my learning style and have helped me grow into my new role this past year.  The hardest part of the job is not being able to do more for the callers.  I have worked in direct care in the community and have had to adjust significantly to do the most I can in one phone call.

Ethical, professional and caring environment.  Everyone at Alliance care about the members as well as the staff. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
I would not say I have anything that is stressful. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Exciting and uplifting! Very professional and fun! 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Completing assessments, following up with stakeholders, scheduling meetings, completing paperwork/notes and attending meetings.

I worked here for about a year. At the time they were in transition for Medicaid expansion and the workflow was changing every week. They required the care manager to make daily outbound calls to try to get the members to “out in” by completing a long needs assessment. The metrics weren’t difficult to meet but it wasn’t what I was expecting to be doing as a care manager.  Management was great and supportive, and didn’t micromanage anyone. My biggest con was taking a pay cut to be able to work from home then their conflict of interest rules made me have to give up my supplemental income source.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Being able to work remotely and hybrid.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Not receiving all required information and training to effectively do your job. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Culturally diverse. Great team support.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Heavy workload. A lot of customer service.

Alliance really tries to stand out from the other LME/MCO's but in reality, are the same as the others. Too many changes happening all the time with very little support for changes demanded. I stayed extremely stressed out while there and stayed as long as I did because of the decent salary and benefits, they offer. Multiple required trainings and ongoing educational opportunities. Advancement happens only as a result of who you know and who likes you.

Alliance is an ok place to work. There are a lot of changes which has caused a lot turn over. I don’t foresee many people staying. The members served are great and make it hard to leave. Some supervisors are better than others. They need to allow flexible scheduling for all departments not just some. A lot of upper management that is micro managing staff who are face to face with members. Overworked, underpaid, and under appreciated by upper management. Benefits are good but pricey.
