The workforce is greatly mismanaged. The teams are incredibly understaffed, and though at a glance the pay seems great, we are completely overworked. This has led to high levels of staff turnover during my time here across varying levels of seniority.

I happen to be working in a team under an individual with a huge attitude problem - this person is quite favored by upper management, and the issue is so egregious that I have come to dread having to consult my lead for anything. The worst part is this person is very knowledgable, and though they are sometimes pleasant and helpful, I never know what I am walking into. 

I consider myself to have a very strong work ethic, but with that being said, the amount of work assigned to team members (within accounts payable) is ludicrous to say the least. There is no such thing as being caught up or current. I am not exagerating when I say that in a full 8 hour day, you cannot complete the workload expected. To make matters worse, the company states they value work-life balance, but the nature of the workload requires that one put in constant overtime to even begin to dream of being caught up. On top of that is the fact that they are very restrictive with overtime, and have constant days off (and we also have to take off early every other Friday, otherwise it is considered overtime).

In a nutshell, it feels as though we are not given the resources to achieve the expected results. I only wish the conditions were better, as I truly do enjoy the scope of the accounting work I complete here.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with GreenTech Innovations for the past year, and I am thoroughly impressed by their dedication to both their customers and the environment.

I relocated to San Diego to expand my experience and  used a staffing agency and was briefly a temp here. It was a pleasant experience until it wasn’t. Within the first week I was told if there is ever an issue simply don’t go to my supervisor at the time I️ didn’t understand. After two months or so, I had gone to my supervisor to let her know an employee was badgering and bullying me without cause. Nothing was ever done about it, then to her supervisor with the same outcome. When neither supervisors were in the office and was disrespected by said individual, I contacted HR to have them aware so no one could twist my words. Two days later I was let go. Not that I deserved one, but there was no warning given. Ileft early that Friday due to being sick and they saw me didn’t even tell me to my face not to come back. 5 minutes later the call from the agency comes that I’m let go and due to my attendance which was so far from the truth.  
 As young professional whose worked hard for 8+ years and simply knowing how to behave, I have never been so disrespected and treated poorly by a company who claims to pride themselves on their communication and interpersonal skills, simply because I voiced a concern to make being there pleasant.

Beware! This location is ran by an incompetent operations manager. What does that mean? She is an air head that doesn't know anything...when she opens her mouth it is straight BS. Furthermore, it is her job to ensure that the accounts are balanced equally among all the teams, however she has failed miserably and doesn't care. She is hardly at work and when she is, its only for a couple of hours so she could NEVER be effective as a "leader." In addition, the operations manager allows the tenured producers to run the office...not good because they are a clique and anyone outside their clique is beneath them. They hire all their friends with no insurance experience, and offer them more money than the existing employees with experience. Lastly, this location has the most disrespectful and unprofessional people that I have ever worked with in my entire life. They are condescending, belittling, and rude, but when reported to HR,  the standard reply is "I'm sure he/she was just having a bad day." In actually, they have been reported NUMEROUS times for creating a hostile working environment, but they are still allowed to remain employed with the company. Anyone who is considering working at the Houston location, RUN very far away...their turnover rate is astronomical!!

They over work people have unrealistic expectations of their employees adding new products all the time pushing you to sell them after telling you they wouldn't be mandatory then making them mandatory shortly after with other requirements added into your sales days. Put immune compromised people in in situations where their immune system gets dysregulated and can't recover where they get another medical condition that causes them to be permanently disabled. They won't accommodate restrictions. tell them they'll put them on an extended medical leave and then fire them. Allow a employee in management to give another employees personal information to non-management employees and then say they handled it by, just doing a retraining with all of management. There is tons of drama at this office . one employee, always having information that they shouldn't have. That same employee has an in with management it has a very not appropriately appearing relationship with management. My list can go on over the year that I worked there there were so many different things that I witnessed that were just not okay.

PROS:
The employees and management are friendly and staff is about 90% female.  The office is clean and workspace is comfortable.  

CONS:
The office in Cheshire, CT has no room for growth as 75% or more of the employees have been here for over 15 years with no change or incentive for retirement (pension).  There is no formal training you have to learn the job as you go and hope you can grasp the full scope having made several errors that become your responsibility to correct, hence doing the same job twice.  The pay is under market for the cost of living in Connecticut and there is no option to work overtime.  You will need to have either a second job or a second source of income from someone other than yourself in order to make a 'living'.  Overall, it's a dead end opportunity and the company depends on keeping their outsourced contracts in order to keep the business going.  Lay-offs are inevitable and unforeseen as payroll is the companies biggest expense.  Down-sizing on staff is the first option and throwing the undone tasks on the remaining staff becomes normal practice. Lastly, the job is also very tedious and stressful for the amount you take home.

The organization and culture is comprised of entrepreneurs that start from the top down. The CEO maintains a book of business which is telling that all facets of the organization is based on performance.  Which suits me fine.  But not for everyone.  

Management is very flat in which there is usually only 1 person that you actually report to.  Key benefit is that there are no organizational or operational management folks that solely tells you what to do without fully understanding the daily duties.  The company is predominantly made up of account executives and account managers.  Good culture, work to perform, perform well, and you get rewarded. 

For example: Your direct production team met production goals, but your “group” didn’t. Should you still be rewarded and compensated?  Absolutely.  

In my past experience, if you and your team perform well, you should not be held down by others who are underperforming. If collectively as a group, the group underperforms and you individually exceeded expectations than you should not penalized by others. This is the best way I can explain a work by performance environment. 

Well, after being with a company for several years you'd expect to at least get a decent severance package, especially after having such crapp health benefits. Where to start. Last year our firm was bought by alliant. The human resources department was impossible to reach and were completely ignorant of the problems we were having using benefits, being charged for benefits, etc. We heard they were going to start outsourcing work to China from another department a few months after they bought us out. That's never good. Then earlier this year we had an all employee meeting about why our premiums were down and Sean didn't take it seriously. Then it got to where we weren't making ANY money. We were doing great with the company who had us before, so if all things are equal, it's sufficient to say that alliant killed our firm, and took half the jobs with it. And sending them  to China I guess. Don't look for security, support, or straightforwardness here, and get ready for daily helpings of mind numbing chaos and being ignored. Or laid off.

Positive encouragement and excitement in being the best insurance professionals to counsel and provide insurance solutions to clientele.
My hours were flexible since my assigned accounts were on the East Coast and due to time differences, my mornings started earlier and 
after evening hours as well to accomplish exemplary servicing for Commercial and High Net Worth clients on the East Coast.
Our office had a very diverse culture and we all got along and worked as a team continually to achieve our goals.
My personal thoughts are that I am very thankful for the opportunity to have worked at Alliant Insurance Services and unfortunately, several of us, in the Account Manager - Lead category, were released due to COVID19 negative impacts on corporate revenues.
Overall, an excellent insurance environment to collaborate, learn new things daily and to have positive accomplishments as a team.



I worked at the San Diego office for 4+ years. The place is filled with drama and management exacerbated the problem. HR was very little help as well. Management will tell you one thing then go back on their word.  They tout of benefits such as snacks in the break room and two company parties every year but if you don’t drink, at the parties you will end up standing around watching everyone make a fool of themselves and the snacks are usually guarded by the company watchdog.  I think one of the only true benefits of this company is the paid for parking in downtown SD. Health benefits were abysmal. You do get to leave two hours early the day before a holiday but be warned there is no effort in giving time to make up on missed work once you return from said holiday... It’s just expected that you get caught up. I’m happy to no longer work for this company. I definitely feel better after leaving the stress, drama and distrust behind with this company since I left.
