I’ve enjoyed my time here thanks to an incredible team and a supportive, understanding manager. The role offers great variety and excellent flexibility to manage your own schedule.

The compensation could be more competitive, particularly since gas isn't reimbursed despite frequent travel.

While the work can be high-pressure at times, the positive environment makes it manageable

Very nice people and very helpful when needing assistance. Minimal interaction with staff, no micromanagement or wasteful administrative requirements.

Availability/quantity of potential clients. Low pay and and opportunity for advancement. Not proactive development of employees.

Hands-off approach with minimal interaction with staff.

Work at clients residence and go home. Contact office if needed. Otherwise may not hear from anyone for months.

Working as a care provider for the developmentally disabled is emotionally a very rewarding job!

Learning many different skills such as helping special need children with coping skills, behavior skills, social skills and cognitive skills.

Helpful employees. Good training. Provide a lot of opportunities to have more clients.


What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day included four hours of habilitation, and the rest of the day included respite

TYPICAL DAY: provide training to client’s with developmental disabilities in the areas of communication, self-direction and learning as directed by the Individual Service Plan; enhancing each individual’s skill development, health and dignity.

MANAGEMENT: rarely seen. 

CO-WORKERS: didn't know them well-enough since was not employed there very long. 

HARDEST PART OF JOB: inconsistent scheduling with clients.  

MOST ENJOYABLE: working with autistic clients, to aid them with learning appropriate coping skills.

Love working within the special needs community! So, satisfying to match a good caregiver with a our very deserving families!

Keeping up with paperwork and in person visits!

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Work from 9am to 4pm! No day is exactly the same!

I was able to obtain this job through a friend. With the help of that friend I was able to work for a family right away once I submitted my application and resume to the agency. I was also able to start right away after obtaining my proper certifications. During a short time this family did not need a Home Healthcare Provider, so I had to find a different family to work for. The family had also switched to a new agency. I learned later on when I was with a different agency this family was there and I was able to start working for them again.

Working with families and consumers is wonderful. Helping them in their day to day life is a great feeling. We also work with DDD department of developmental disabilities with our consumers and you're always learning something new everyday!
Our agency is small and family oriented, everybody helps everybody. It's a great atmosphere.

There’s a lot of training at ACP, and it’a actually got decent pay per hour (12 for respite, 15 for hab and attendant) but they will never give you enough hours to make decent living. It is a very good starter job as other than training and background checks and such it has no requirements, it looks very good on a resume as well, but other than that or a side job, it’s painfully underpaid and under appreciated

My short time spent as a coordinator here consisted of misinformation, lack of integrity from management as well as cold stand-offish mannerism from staff. This company’s turn over rates appears to be a consequence for their lack of exclusivity and willing to work with their employees (inconsideration). Often times, I was left out of lunch order conversations, would not get spoken to unless initiated by myself, things along those lines. Very disappointing experience. Wouldn’t recommend…
