Manage 17 providers and 7 office administrators between 3 office locations. Complete all billing on a daily basis. Keep QuickBooks updated by uploading deposits and electronic fund transfers from Regions Bank daily. Process payroll through QuickBooks weekly. Process independent contractor reimbursements through QuickBooks monthly. Pay all bills through QuickBooks as needed. Send patient billing weekly as well as processing patient payments as they arrive. Process EOB's on a daily basis. Process insurance and patient refunds as needed. Answer incoming phone calls when front office staff are busy (Athena prides ourselves on a true team environment). Implement new or updated company policies as needed due to growth or law changes. 

The hardest part of this job is dealing with hostile patients.

The most enjoyable part of this job is hearing "thank you" from both patients and co-workers every day.

I have much greater work/life balance than at my previous place of employment and feel the workload is not unreasonable. I have had opportunities for growth since becoming an employee at this company and feel that my skills are valued here. My fellow employees are friendly and caring people and I feel they are passionate about their jobs. As the company is growing of course there are some areas it could grow. Communication from the higher ups to the rest of the staff could be improved upon. Frequently meetings about changes don't seem to be offering much new information and there are a lot of unknowns but will hopefully be resolved as the process continues. There are some good benefits but some serious oversights that need to be addressed. Overall Athena is a wonderful work environment that I would recommend working for.

The management is absolutely horrible there is no communication, poor training, and you will be thrown into stuff that you did not sign up for, which is why the turnover rate is so higher. You can’t voice your concerns about patient care or mistreatment from management or you will be targeted and be lied on and terminated. There is no job security i honestly would never in life want to work for a company like Athena or be a patient and they do not care about patients or there staff at all. So take my advice and I can speak for myself and previous providers they mistreated DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME INTERVIEWING ATHENA IS A HORRIBLE COMPANY!!!!

This is the first job I've had that I can openly say treats you like family. I've learned that I have others to lean on to help me get through the day in and outside of work. Each work day is never the same and at times the pace can differ. My manager is always coordinating between locations to make sure everything gets done smoothly. At times it can be hard to understand what's going on in the company growing. Most things are not being communicated with us. However, you're not alone in this company. We're all figuring it out together and helping each other out each step of the way. 

Typical day at work is a steady flow and usually happens smoothly. 
I have learned that you have to be able to think on your feet and navigate patients differently.
I love how inclusive the company as a whole is. 
The hardest part of this job is learning that the patients we take care of are usually struggling so you can not take what they say to heart and you have to approach every situation with compassion. On the flip side of that I love being able to see a patient that has been coming here for a bit just feel so much better about themselves and realize that we are only here to help however we can. 

I started with Athena 2 years ago as a new practitioner. It was a relief to transition to a job environment where teamwork was second nature. I have always felt supported/empowered by management and office staff. Our supervising physician is also very available and values education and collaboration. As Athena is growing, even more measures are being put in place for practitioner support. This has honestly been my favorite place to work as a mental health care provider.

Great pay, great schedule. Convenient location. If you can tolerate people smiling in your face, then going behind in secret & manipulating your words, then this place is for you! Those who go behind your back, will be doing the very things they reported about you, if not much worse. Yay! If you enjoy being a part of a small crew that’s expected to cover a multitude of things that (would) be solved simply by expanding the staff, then jackpot for you again! 

From starting this position with this company it has been a positive experience. Those who I have interacted with made me feel welcome and valued as an employee. Growing pains have occurred with expansion, (which is to be expected), as limited communication at times with the overall picture. However, it has not negatively impacted my ability to complete my job duties. 

Work environment is conducive to fostering intrinsic motivation, creativity, success, and sense of belonging. Leadership and management exhibit a genuine interest in employees and their growth, creating a culture that is supportive and empathetic. As a clinician, I consistently feel empowered to deliver a higher quality of mental health care on a daily basis.

I have worked for this company for 5 years, and love how team oriented it is. Employees support and help each other to achieve daily tasks, and I thoroughly enjoy coming to work each day. My position allows a great balance of work and personal life, as well as diverse activities that keeps the job new and interesting. I love playing a part in helping clients achieve diagnostic clarity, and being a steppingstone to getting them treatment.
