At the interview everything seems great you’ll be excited to work there. Once you start there’s about no training you basically have to teach yourself your position. You’ll spend most of your day answering the phone & running back and forth doing patient Intakes and rooming them. The doctors are for the most part pleasant but you’ll be cleaning rooms in between patients for them while having 10 other things to do. You’ll never be able to take a day off without being given a problem for it when you have the time to use. They will overwork you & want you to do even more than your position entitles just because there’s not enough staff when they’re already overworking you. No raises and no bonuses. You do one hundred things right & make one mistake and they’ll come at you not professionally, They don’t care about they’re employees and will have you doing tests on patients that you don’t feel comfortable with…as they did during the entire pandemic. There’s absolutely no rotation it’s just favoritism. Your looked down upon, Poor management & you’ll be burnt out and miserable in a very short time. I don’t recommend working here, Go elsewear! 

As someone who enjoys working as a MA giving the opportunity to help other people is such a great experience and rewarding. However, this place is terrible I’ve never seen a place as unprofessional as Washingtonville peds and such a negative workplace to work at. Such an easy job yet the people and management will make this job harder for you. People never last at this job no you cannot have off until your 6 months probation is over whether your sick or personal reasons. Very confused how the manger got the position herself knows absolutely nothing about healthcare and very nasty with how she speaks to people.

If you are an LPN please, do not work here. You will be a medical assistant. You will room all the patients from double physicals to sick visits back to back to back. This will not enhance any clinical skills, you will learn nothing you will only feel belittled. Management is poor, and everything is made up on a daily basis. You will be doing what they tell you to do when they tell you to do it. They tell you jump, you have to say how high. Your LPN will mean nothing and you will constantly be talked down to by staff and providers. Like I said, save yourself the grief and don’t fall for the false advertising. 

Very high patient load. Many double bookings. Several corporate holidays office was opened and had to work with no other day off. Probationary period is 6 months.  Dont ask for a day off before that!  Drs want off around holidays they take off.  You get stuck short staffed on what should be your paid holiday with very high patient load.
Oh about those personal days.  Start January 3rd you wont receive one on April 1st.  Have to be there an entire corporate quarter.  Wont get one until July 1st.  4 personal days, nope not really.

Terrible place to work. They are looking to hire a nurse but plan on using them as a medical assistant as well instead of hiring another since the last medical assistant quit. They have their Lpn nurses triaging patients , which is not under the license of the Lpn , only RN. The doctors are not helpful and complain constantly.  They are hiring to help all other roles  so every other position has a say in your role

Great communication throughout staff. Fantastic group of people 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Keeping steady communication with patient family - more so on their end than the office. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It’s truly like a family, everyone is very supportive. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Steady patient care - vitals, physical forms, swabs for sick patients. We ran in house swabs and a few fingerstick labs. 30 mins lunch where office is closed.

I enjoyed the work I did: checking patients in, scheduling appointments, and more. However, management and your employees? Management lies about your time/schedule just to hurry up and get you to accept job. If you’re new, your fellow employees will have you doing all the work so they can just sit there on their phones. The work environment was toxic. My first day there it was already so much drama. I didn’t come to work to make friends but if you  like your job responsibilities and can ignore ignorance, then stay! 

Great work environment. Supportive colleagues who are approachable and easy to speak with. Despite being busy, everyone works together as a team to help workflow run smoothly from the front desk, medical assistants, nurses, physicians, billing and support staff. I’m happy to go to work every day and truly love my job. 

Working at BCHP has been a rewarding and enriching 13 year experience. It has been an honor to have worked alongside well recognized medical providers highly valued in the pediatric health field. Leaving my colleagues wasn't easy. It was truly an amazing office of team players that cared for each other not only as co-workers but as family. My departing of my position was based on my move to another state and not for any other reason.

The organization has some pros but mostly cons. It is a money driven franchise that cares little for its staff and patients. Training is minimal and are left to your own devices. The atmosphere and structure is dis organized as well as unsupportive. The company is not transparent with its objectives other than its revenue or break even point. The organization only strives to overwork the staff as well as mislead by not providing updates a d miscommunication.
