When I started working here, I noticed that many processes were outdated, with heavy reliance on pen and paper rather than electronic systems. This can be challenging if you are used to more modern medical office environments.

The front desk is frequently understaffed due to overlapping time off, and new employees are often expected to cover for multiple roles at once. Training is minimal and largely left to coworkers rather than formal programs, yet expectations to learn quickly are very high. Management presence was limited, and communication could feel closed off, which made it difficult to get consistent guidance.

The workplace culture was challenging. There were frequent disagreements between staff and leadership, and support from management in daily tasks was limited. Opportunities for advancement were rare, and additional effort or flexibility (such as covering shifts or working at other locations) was not always recognized when applying for new roles.

Another concern was safety: front desk staff sometimes had to manage difficult client interactions without much support, and medical staff were not always responsive when urgent situations arose.

Overall, while the job itself is manageable once learned, the combination of understaffing, lack of training, limited support, and few opportunities for growth made this a difficult environment to stay in long-term

Let's begin by saying that Bridges was a decent company to interview for, but after that, you're on your own. I was part of the "ACT" program that was unprofessional, 0 implementation of what the program was, and the management was horrific. One manager had problems actually being a manager and is only recently an LCSW, while the other program manager hardly produced any form of communication towards their employees. Was thrown into the position with 0 training and told to produce work at a speed that was unheard of without any support. The only "support" you get is when the managers somewhat speak to you about something that THEY feel is wrong and do not support you with any problems you're having. The overall life of Bridges is a disaster, and I truly would not recommend ANYONE to apply to this site. DO your hours for internships and such elsewhere!

I always sought to move up the ladder by learning and taking on tasks, and offering to help anywhere I could. It got to a point where I noticed I was doing a lot of work, and not being compensated for it. It’s good if you do the bare minimum required. Don’t take on extra jobs or you will be expected to do them every time. Every time I asked for proper compensation for the extra tasks I was either left hanging or flat out told no, which led to me no longer doing the extra tasks, and slowly going back to only doing what I was hired for. Then when I tried to reapply, I was told that there was a decrease in my work ethic which disqualified me from being rehired. It’s not that my work ethic decreased. It was that I dropped back to what the original job title and description was instead of going above and beyond. 

I have worked at Bridges for 23 years and there is no other place I would rather work.  In fact, I am of retirement age but I enjoy the job so much, I'm staying as long as they will have me.    The clinical staff is wonderful.  Case workers are hard working and caring.   Administrative staff rocks.  I've worked many other jobs and the benefits of working here (not only money) far out weight the negatives.    When I first started I took a significant cut in pay to take this job, but I never regretted it for one moment. I am so much happier.

For the most part, I greatly enjoyed my time working at Bridges. The benefits and time off are excellent, and this is a great place to gain clinical experience. The IICAPS department felt like a true team and was incredibly supportive of one another considering the acuity of the cases. Management is supportive and flexible, allowing clinical teams to build their own schedules. I recommend this experience to any clinician beginning their career!

The support overall is unmatched.  This company makes it their mission to grow you. The supervision in the IICAPS program is unmatched

Prepping for chart audits, like every other social work office

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
All inclusive, calm, and humorous.  

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
20 clinical hours , 10 casemanagement, 7 admin hours a week

I started working at Bridges in January and so far absolutely love it. While I haven't met many of the staff in person, people have been very open and easy to speak to via email and there is a lot of communication. I find management to be very open and honest about the agency and it's future. I personally love my current job, and feel as though it has combined all my experiences as a social worker into one. Couldn't be happier with the agency and I truly believe I will be here for a long time :-)

Management does not listen and does not understand what you tell them.  They ignore you and pretend they are to do something about it.  Underpaid, frustrated, complete chaos.  Their Internet is down for days and their IT department is useless.  High turnover and lack of appreciation of what you do.  They just put band-aids on the problems and make excuses. If you are thinking of working here, think again!

Supportive team and administrators. Great work environment and benefits.

Dealing with insurance  companies.

Supportive and caring. I loved the opportunity to work with different people. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I made my own schedule, it was very flexible!

Best part of my day is when I arrive at work. I love everything about working at this agency.  The culture is very inclusive and supportive. And the hardest part of my job is when I have to leave
