I am a current Medical Assistant and am still learning new things about my role. Newer management is great and work hard to make changes and implement things but the training has been terrible. There is no organized way to properly train incoming employees. There needs to be better training so new people don't start,  then leave, because it can be overwhelming at the amount of work for the MAs and I'm sure other roles as well. From personal experience, as fast as these offices are growing, there needs to be a set person for medical records and possibly new phone system, as calls are taken through another country, and they dont seem to be trained at all on what their job duties are supposed to be. So with that being said, it sometimes feels like the MAs are doing double work to make up for what the call center doesn't do or know. All the providers are knowledgeable and good changes are in the rise, I'm just not sure how patient some employees will be going forward if they can't feel comfortable in their role within the probationary period and after. Also thought I would get 40 hours per week, but haven't put in over 73 for a 2 week period.

The great thing about this employer is that he’s looking for the young and inexperienced. Preferably fresh out of school college grads. He wants to give them the opportunity to learn and gain the experience they need before moving on to bigger greater things. The down fall is that people ARE always moving on to better things, therefore the people and work is inconsistent. Other than that, you usually get free lunch/breakfast 3-4 times out of the week, everyone is really laid back and easy going, and as long as your get your work done, you don't have anyone breathing down your neck stressing you out. Its a great place to start out! They do lack a little bit of professionalism but I think thats mostly because everyone is so young. Management for the medical side of the office is meh. If you working for billing though they pretty much have it figured out. I think the most enjoyable part of the job though was the people. Like I said, everyone is so laid back. It’s pretty easy to get along with everyone so if you are falling behind and need some help, no one really minds giving you a hand at the end of the day.

If you would’ve asked a year ago, my review would’ve been negative as I was searching for another job, however, new management has been brought in and the overall atmosphere has drastically improved. We finally have support, instead of a manager who only cares how they looked infront of their bosses. We have a manager now that know what’s going on at every level, makes it easy to communicate with them, and honestly cares. Management will step in to cover your duties if there is any issue causing you to be unable to work. That’s a leader. They also ensure as much communication throughout the entire facility, which is awesome to feel included. The drama has gone down a lot as well as they don’t play into it nor pick favorites. Pay is also getting better. Our pay is average given our job. Work life balance is great, with our hours recently shortened a bit and half day Fridays. I would recommend Capitol Pain to friends and family!

I worked here for a lot longer than I really should have. Management does not update employees on any day to day changes in the facilities. There could be important information pertaining to your job and it will not be relayed to you at all, only when a mistake is made and you get into trouble. There are also several instances where violent patients have been left to the responsibility to the basic staff. Management will essentially say if they aren't there it isn't their problem. 

This job is fine if you need something to get you through but the management really do not have empathy or the leadership they need to have. The hours are nice, but it is also not technically full time. My 90 day review was also delayed several weeks due to management "not having time" that should not be something you have to make time for if it is in regards to your employees who are hinging on the raise. 

Most of the employees i worked with were great and helped out but the doctors were horrible self centered people including the ceo. he would stand in the middle of the office cussing about patients while he was seeing patients. There are no set rules and its what the doctors want at that time. so things change all the time and no one knows what is going on. If you are not a favorite then you might as well quit because they will throw you under the bus until you quit. ive never had managers and bosses lie to employees until working here. Money is their number one focus and will do anything for a dollar.
I went to APC and I could not believe how much more focused on patient care they were and not doctors.  Be aware before you work here there are much better environments to work in then this.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Nothing. Micromanagement from day one. Managers make you feel like you're nobody. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Management. There is nobody that knows who HR is, so if you are dealing with anything, you're on your own. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The people are fine to work with. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stress. Stress all day. You're expected to do the unthinkable even if you're a new employee. Get ready to be overwhelmed with work and don't think about leaving your desk because if you do then you might as well not get any work done that is expected of you.

A typical day was very fast-paced, supporting a high-volume provider with both clinical and administrative responsibilities. I gained experience in patient flow, multitasking, and adapting quickly in a demanding environment. However, training was minimal, and expectations were high without consistent guidance or support. Management communication was often unclear, and workplace culture felt inconsistent at times. The most difficult part of the job was being expected to perform at a high level without adequate training. The most enjoyable part was working with patients and gaining hands-on clinical experience.

Starts off like a good decision, but you then find out that if your not sucking up to the right people, you get no where. Support from Sr. Management is  not there and they will allow you to deal with people above you that abuse their power. Your hard work, loyalty and dedication is not appreciated, so don't give it. Be careful for once they are tired of you or feel you have done all you can, they will lie to get you out of there. Your only family if your a certain color and bow down to those who can mess your career up. 

The only thing they care about is you being at work. You don’t matter your kids don’t matter. They play with your money too. They pick and chose what employees can get away with certain things. Management sucks for sure. They will in no way shape or form make any accommodation for you and your personal life. You can be dying and they still want you at work. Job highly not recommended and they don’t pay enough either.

I was excited to begin work there. The office environment was at times hostile and unprofessional. This was the billing/AR department. We were rarely included with the actual clinical staff or the surgical staff.  This definitely was a negative as there was no real bond or positive rapport between the offices and definite lack of team work.
