Care to Stay Home

A typical day with Care to Stay Home is very different, as every client has very specific needs that can change drastically with different shifts.  With the two clients I have experience working with, although the pay is the same, the demands and duties are incredibly different.  Some clients have family members, pets, and visitors in the household while you are working, and are extremely involved in the client's care. Some other clients live alone, and you are their only companion.  I have learned that you have to be very open minded and flexible to provide the best care that you can for the patient and their situation.  Communicate, communicate, communicate.  Stay on the same page with your client, their family, your coworkers, and CTSH. 

I have ran into mostly amazing fellow caregivers, but there are definitely some caregivers who get territorial with their patients, and will do anything to jeopardize your relationship so that they would maintain their dominance in a particular assignment.  ugh.  Hope you avoid any of those situations.  If you ever feel like that, speak about it with your coworkers or CTSH.  

The most enjoyable part of the job is the rewarding companionship that comes with many of the lovely clients and their families.  i have learned major life lessons from interacting so intimately with these families, and grateful to have become a better person because of it.

I have been working with Care To Stay Home for about 2 1/2 months now. I love my job and the team I work with. When I have a questions or concerns they are there to answer them quickly, plus give me tips to help me achieve my tasks. I work with Dementia clients and happy to help with their needs.  The more I spend with them the more I get to know them better. Their family are very supported and willing to help all they can do to make you feel comfortable working with their love ones. Care To Stay Home will support anytime I need, and make me feel important for what I do. They offer online classes to achieve certificates needed for a caregiver or healthcare fields your looking for this type of occupation. They have many incentives {cash, travel, prizes, 401k, benefits}.
 I always love helping others when needed. You have to be compassionate, trustworthy and dependable. At this type of job this is a must. Clients depend on you to be on time and follow their health plan tasks after their assessment from their doctors and nurses. Following policy's and procedures, documenting is important for this type of job. If you love working with clients in their home to give them a safe, happy life when they age. This is the job for you. I would recommend Care To Stay Home for a long term employment.

I have worked for a lot of home care companies in the area.  I can usually expect bad communication, a dishonest staffing team and unreliable scheduling.  I was referred to Care to Stay Home by a friend of mine who said I had to try them- that they are different than any other home care staffing company.  I've been working for them for over a year now and I am so thankful I applied.  The staffing team is always honest and upfront with my work situation, even letting me know if it's a long term and short assignment due to client's condition.  They are fair and will compensate me for the level of care of the client or distance (much higher than any other company I've worked for!).  They are approachable and care about you as a person.  I needed to take off a week due to my child feeling ill and they were sympathetic and were able to fill my shifts right away- no pressure to come back earlier than I needed to.  I would definitely recommend Care to Stay Home!

They care about the client and caregivers at a certain extent. They hire a third party company to make calls to both clients and caregivers to ensure everyone is happy. 
On the other hand, they are always under staff, the office employee turnover is VERY high. They overwork you, and you HAVE TO advocate for yourself and have clear boundaries or else they take all of your personal time. Next thing you know you are beyond burned out.
They do a good job giving simple recognitions to caregivers that do a good job. They have incentives which compensates qualified caregivers that did not call out of work. They don't compensate all the caregivers that didn't call out, it's a raffle and they pick a winner ever quarter. 
After my clients death and me asking for some time to recover, it was "given" to me. But they whole time I was trying to recover they emailed,texted, and called me to see if I could cover shifts.....I didn't get to rest at all. 
Great first company to work for if you are just starting your caregiver career journey. 👍 

Care To Stay Home is an amazing company to work for. From the moment I interviewed with them, I knew this was a good, high-quality company that really cares about their clients and employees. I really enjoyed their detailed orientation and training that helped me prepare for my first assignment with them. I felt they communicated with me and really provided me with all the information I needed to do a good job.

My first patient was AMAZING. She was so kind and nice and was always happy to see me. We bonded right away and I became like family. I truly enjoy my job and love that my company, Care To Stay Home is there for me. 

The hours are flexible and the staff and Care To Stay Home works with me to manage my schedule. I get to work when I am available. It has allowed me to get my feet wet in healthcare and find something that I truly enjoy.

I have enjoyed working with this company the past 7 months.
Get to meet lots of unique patients and their family members. I learn what they like and dislike within the first couple of days and make sure I ask them how they want things to be done. 
I get to drive them to the grocery store, doctor appointments, restaurants, and any other requests they have. The most important thing is to gain their trust and let them know they can count on you. 
Each patient is different and going through different situations so don't take any outbursts personal! Be professional.

The staff members are all so helpful and work with my school schedule to fit my full time work hours.
They offer extra shifts as well.

After clocking in I sit with my client and ask how their day is going or how was their weekend.We discuss the tasks to do for that day.I make sure they have eaten,taken meds,etc.Can I get them anything before getting started.Management/office staff is always very patient and helpful with me.CTSH is really on top of situations that arise such as weather-related or client-related.The hardest part of the job is having to let a client go due to life changes or something else-they are sort of like my family because we are together for several hours a day.The best part of the job is seeing each person as unique and the challenge to make their lives more meaningful by doing what I can and what fits their unique needs and desires.

I have been in the home care industry for over 10 years. I love what I do and know that it is a tough job at times without the right support from your company. I was blessed to apply and get work right away with Care To Stay Home. They were able to get me working immediately. 

Not only that, but they made sure the job I was placed on worked out for me. They continually check in on me and on the patient. They communicate well, they follow up and most importantly they follow through with what they say they are going to do. 

I have worked for a lot of companies in the past and I feel that Care To Stay Home is the best agency I have worked for.

Care To Stay Home is a family owned business.  They are honest and trustworthy with high ethical standards.  Having a family allow you the opportunity of caring for their vulnerable elder is very rewarding but also very challenging.  Every day is different as the clients' needs change and caregiver performance varies.  My co-workers were amazing and dedicated professionals.  The most difficult part of the job was hiring and retaining qualified caregivers to care for the clients.  The most enjoyable part of the job was how grateful the clients and their families were when we got it right.

I am assigned clients based on the personality of both caregiver and client. The management is understanding and supportive of their employees. I am assigned one client for an entire shift most days, which means I have a consistent schedule. The client caseload is wonderful, and they are all respectful and friendly.
