I have have worked at Mill Valley Pediatrics for nearly 2 years now. It has been my favorite job I've ever had. My coworkers are friends, they are supportive of me and everyone is a team player. Management always wants to see staff succeed and feel fulfilled in their positions. Physicians are easy to work with, they are kind and hardworking, I have a lot of respect for them. I feel that my onboard training was adequate, I had plenty of time to learn especially considering I was fresh out of school. That being said, with my clinical lead and coworkers support I felt my tasks were simple enough to learn, and the more difficult ones I was able to practice till I felt confident. Front staff and back staff communicate well. I feel compensation is adequate for the position. We get yearly raises, I work 4.5 days a week, usually 37-40 hours. We get an hour lunch daily. I have full benefits of PTO - about 15 days a year with increasing accrual yearly and roll over of unused hours, major holidays off, vision, dental and health insurance and a retirement account with 6% company match. The hardest part of the job in my opinion is when it gets really busy and dealing with difficult clients. Otherwise due to the company culture the pros outweigh the cons. It's a really great place to work! If you're a team player and have good time management then you'll fit right in!

I was a receptionist with COPC for 9 years. Management at my site was quite poor with lots of favoritism, different levels of expected behavior/work quality from different employees, picking and choosing when to enforce corporate policy. I witnessed a lot of unethical things during my tenure ranging from racially insensitive language used by management to inappropriate supervisor-subordinate relationships. 

Corporate doesn't seem to have a clue how sites operate on a day to day basis. Training is minimal and and trainers don't know what to do if you ask an "off script" question. New policies and procedures introduced very frequently but not relayed by site manager in a timely manner. HR is a joke. Accounting expects you to drop everything to answer their questions but takes days to get back to you if you have questions. 

I will say that I was well compensated and my hours offered excellent work-life balance. I also learned a lot and met some great people (patients) on the job. Benefits were decent.

Training at the corporate center was okay, but once I got to my site it was clear that they foster a clique-like atmosphere. I worked there three weeks and was never given a key to the building, meaning I had to stand outside and wait for someone else to let me in. My previous experience was not taken into account, and I was bullied by my coworkers and managers constantly. Instead of providing me with constructive feedback, they consistently belittled me and talked behind my back. Management seemed to actively encourage this. Instead of providing me with clear training goals, they elected to write me up within my first two weeks for "not being a team player" despite the team's blatant attempts to exclude me from everything and unclear instructions on what specifically needed to be done. I was treated like a freak for not having children or being married, and functionally discouraged from succeeding. 

I was so excited to have a job with this company; they really seemed great and like I could make a career with them. I loved what I did, I thought training was great and informative. I really loved the thought of being a medical assistant there - it would be my first MA job after graduating as a CCMA. Sadly, that wasn't the case. I went through a really bad week at my location and when I abruptly quit, after citing the reasons why, I was advised I would be assisted in finding a new position at a different location however the recruiter essentially ghosted me after our phone conversation - this was 2 weeks ago - and never followed up even though I did on my end. The pay is what you would expect, the benefits were extreme (only 3 plans and outrageous in price) however the hours and PTO/Holiday pay were great. Overall I think the company itself has potential, but their way of handling issues and concerns lacks empathy and compassion.

Run! Don't trust your gut because they are masters of disguise! Their culture of kindness promotion is only acted on when it's in their best interest or when there are witnesses. Bad management, bad culture (once you peel back all the fake layers), completely disloyal to loyal employees. As a whole, they don't care about you..  for the few there that are good people- it doesn't matter; the good ones have no say and know that if they speak up it will mean their jobs too! Sad sad sad what they do to good people who aren't in their clique. Shady dealings, upper management only care about appearances and measures, lack of transparency, poor training, no support for staff, no staff advocates.. Great staff stay in hopes of promises being kept only to find a new disappointment awaits tomorrow or worse, a back-stabbing... They don't have to conduct themselves this way yet do, because they can.

Over time, other physicians and practices liked the results they were seeing and joined our team. Now Central Ohio Primary Care has grown to become one of the largest physician-owned primary care groups in the United States with about 200 out-patient providers and 50 Hospitalists.

COPC also offers a full-service laboratory, complete radiology services and cardiac testing. We also have first-rate health management programs, including two physical therapy clinics, an innovative diabetes management program, and an asthma disease management program.

My personal experience seem to typical from speaking with some former and current employees.

I presented with rave recommendations to this company from previous employers and management was eager to hire me. Before long I recognized a very cliquish environment that worked more against team work and strengthening independent leadership.  Which of course one or the other should be encouraged but the lack of ideal leadership contributes to political chaos.  It became a daily struggle to work among wolves in sheep's clothing. And we all know how wolves prey in packs. A healthy work atmosphere is more than words on a HR power point presentation but that's all they have to offer. I personally found peace of mind relocating to provide my expertise where the best practices are delivered and appreciated.

Traveling is part of the job which is no problem mileage is reimbursed.
Learned a lot in different settings although my job is the same. I got to work with children a few times, I also got to work with more challenging patients such as those with hearing issues or are maybe mute. Learning how to communicate in different ways gave me the confidence I needed to finish my work.
I didn't always work with other co-workers but there were times i got to help others in their assigned homes. My co-workers were always helpful and knowledgeable. 
The hardest part of the job are the early morning hour start times are typically 4 am. 
Management is very helpful and resourceful too.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Extensive training and ability to transfer and promote from within. Lots of perks and company bonuses and the company encourages healthy choices and work/life balance.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Sometimes there is a disconnect between the corporate communication and internal communication among the individual practices. It can cause confusion and misunderstanding.

Encourages healthy living and work life balance. Focus on mental health and supports for childcare and other daily stressors. Active and available HR department.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Very busy. Healthcare can be stressful so lots of complaints and issues with masking complaints etc. Always able to take lunch and leave on time.

Nothing. Poor communication, little to zero training given.

Very little support from corporate. Each office is individually owned by the shareholders and are not held accountable for how they treat staff and office managers

Very toxic and stressful . Very little support from corporate . Each office is individually owned by the shareholders and they are not held accountable on how they treat staff. The pay scale is horrible.

Hectic. Rarely do managers get to focus on their own jobs but are constantly used to cover the floor for multiple staff issues and are still expected to complete their work with little to no support or help
