My days working for Everdriven have been extremely draining - despite performing my role with general competency it feels like management is always looking for non-issues to address. There is an extreme lack of transparency within the company - those in positions of authority would rather throw a fuss about employees taking bathroom breaks, coming back from break a minute late, or dress code enforcement. The serious issues that permeate the office remain unaddressed: an unwillingness to develop/invest in employees, unnecessary administrative bloat, supervisors disappearing for hours out of the day without explanation, and an HR department that lacks interpersonal boundaries and attempts to strong arm employees into becoming docile, unthinking, and subservient. 

Everdriven’s management and administration seems to idolize corporate culture - much fanfare is given to celebrating teamwork and company achievements. There is often free food and drink available in the office. Despite this, I don’t feel like I have been treated as valuable - and my personal life and needs have been largely ignored. I feel dehumanized working in a small cubicle and I feel like management discourages me from expressing myself. Management relies on fallible software rather than observation to keep track of time - this has led to me being mistakenly marked as late returning from breaks and lunches on more than one occasion. Turnover has been high since I’ve been here - new faces come and go frequently. 

Scheduling has been a huge issue for me at Everdriven. At the time of hire, I was told my schedule would be consistent. After training, I agreed to a 3 day part-time schedule. Everdriven later reneged on this agreement and I have had to work 4 days weekly for the same total number of hours. I was recently asked to work 5 days a week - again for the same number of hours. This bait-and-switch has left me with a very negative perception of the company.

In addition to this, management seems to think it’s acceptable to tack on additional responsibilities and tasks to company positions after hiring. I sometimes feel as if I have been manipulated into working two jobs - despite being hired do one.

I have enjoyed some parts of the job, I think that interacting with the education system and helping families with transportation  can be very rewarding. The actual workload is reasonable and I have a lot of great coworkers. Despite the positives, the toxic company culture has made me pretty unhappy during my time here. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
EverDriven was alright to work for as a driver. It was easy to call my boss and keep in contact with time. Diaptch was also understanding and easy to talk to.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
A slightly lesser problem I had was more personal. Working for the school districts required me to get up early, and I'm not a morning person. I had to take a power nap after the morning route to recharge and get through the rest of the day. In addition, some schedules had me getting home later. I hated that. I asked to be taken off a route because it made me get home later than acceptable.

A real problem was with insurance. We could either use a company car or our own car. I used my own car so I wouldn't have to get up even earlier and get home later as well. I was not told that my insurance would change from private to commercial. After the school year, I was suddenly cut off. I'm still waiting to renew my policy.

Another thing was that we would not get our schedules until late at night. Since we had to get up early, there was no waiting to see when we would be starting for the next day.

I can't answer this one since I was a driver and not at an office.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day was getting up early, dragging myself through the AM route, napping back home, eating lunch, having some me time, and heading back out for the PM route(s).

The reality of the job and company culture is such a disconnect from what the company preaches is astounding. The core responsibilities of all jobs in this company revolve around landing relationships with school districts for outsourced specialized transportation and moving people from point a to point b. It is not inherently difficult, and there are a lot of talented people throughout the US who care and who do a great job. But most are doing their jobs *despite* the obstacles and interference from the very top - and it is a top-heavy company. The level of micromanagement and discord is astounding. The top gun is, at times, seemingly unhinged - which is very troublesome as the CEO's primary responsibility is setting the culture tone. "Do as I say, not as I do" is a recipe for disaster. 

Under new ownership, they've fired every longstanding executive that helped build this company.  VP levels are only concerned about hitting their bonuses and will run over anyone that gets in their way.  There is no training structure or program for new hires, existing managers are expected to figure it out independently while still managing their day-to-day  KPIs and 37 different reports that contain bad data most of the time.

This company is very needed in the communities and you can feel it when working. You get a sense of pride in what you are doing. If you run into something you have so many people right at your finger tips very willing to jump in and help. Big sense of being a team! Also, if you have kids or other responsibilities they are very accommodating and flexible with your schedule. The only thing is pay is a little low for what you are doing, but you do get to stay at home(no travel, no new clothes needed). With that there is a lot of ways to move around and increase your pay.

- Day begins early with early morning phone calls (5:30 am - 9:00 am). Issues can come up late as well.
- Flexibility on when you arrive at the office depending on manager.
- You wear a lot of hats and manage expectations with Service Providers, Clients, and Internal Management.
- No day is the same although you have some daily responsibilities.
- The work you do is important.
- The pay is good enough and they're looking to improve that.
- Growth company, which means you run hard.


Work during school months is super busy, back to back calls. Summer is slow. Micromanagement is a big thing here. If you are a couple minutes late coming back from break or lunch, you get talked to. If you are on a phone call for too long even though it’s helping out a customer, you get talked to, can’t help your fellow agents or else you will get talked to. Very very stressful. Felt like I was in school all over again with getting into so much trouble all the time for the very littlest things.

Have a lil break in between and you drive your own vehicle don't have to go drop your car off and into another vehicle

Kids sometimes but overall they are ok

All cultures  environment is perfect people are nice it's great

Morning drop offs then go to my second job and then back to get kids and drop them off at home

Ability to drive own car and have time in your day for other things.

Dealing with all the different personalities of the kids

Never see anybody. Communication is through an app. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Getting a text at 3am reminding you to accept the trip. Stopping for gas everyday. Picking up a student driving to a school and then picking up and returning them home

Efficient, professional organization.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
There are times when the app doesn’t work correctly but they get it corrected quickly.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
 Very pleasant, family oriented 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I pick up students and take them to school and later pick them up and take them to their homes!
